He got players player, but I often think that's a better guide, when fellow professionals can see the quality someone is bringing it's a very good sign.

He's been different class this season, him and Husband are without doubt P'S OTY thus far, albeit we're not 1/5th of the way through the season yet

Didn't realise he finished so strong last season with FGR. I know he had a tricky start so obviously progressed well over the course of that season.
 
He's another year older, had a full year defending for a struggling team, has filled out physically and looks better for a seasons loan. Now worthy of a place.

Smart recruitment and development. Developing players who we sign from upper Champ/lower Prem has proven fruitful for us. Seems a sensible way to plug the gap until our own youth system can go up a standard or two.

I think a few of us thought he wouldn't cut it for the very same reason. Forest Green conceded the most goals in the top 5 divisions. So he's certainly had the experience of defending. I also didn't hold much hope for him, Dale or Virtue being able to improve our team. I'm glad to say I was wrong. Casey looks as good as Marvin did when he had Keogh alongside him.
 
No mention of the moment he lost the plot and almost gave a goal away but was saved by a fantastic covering tackle from Norburn? Marv would have been slaughtered for it, had it been him! I've also not seen any mention on AVFTT of the golden boy Grimshaw's moment of madness that would have resulted in a goal had it not been for an extremely close offside call. It's odd how some players get slaughtered whilst others get free passes on here.

Well there is a mention now as you just did. Does that actually detract overall from how much he has improved? Where’s the free pass? If there is a player without errors in any team??

My point was exactly what I said, both players made a mistakes that other players would have been castigated for! As you say, all players make errors, young players often more regularly, not just the ones that get stick for it on here!
 
Think Tharme may be better than some expect, he played 20 plus games at this level last season.
Think we are a far better balanced team all over the pitch than last season.
