Celtic - Palestine

Just seems a random cause for a Scottish club to get behind - is it because Rishi backed the Israelis so they do the opposite?

Hamas slaughtered 1400 Israelis, and kidnapped 220 more.

Absolutely disgusting.

Israeli forces have bombarded Gaza and killed over 7,000 Palestinians.

Could it be that the Celtic fans feel that the Palestinians have suffered a disproportionate reaction from the Israelis?

Just how many more do they think is enough?

Is that the same Celtic fans who disrespect the poppy and all what it stands for and supporting the IRA and let’s not forget the songs they sang about the Queen dying.

Celtic support the IRA and the IRA support Hamas…..both groups are terrorists.
How can anyone possibly support the killing & hostage taking of innocent civilians in a brutal massacre in which so many young people were killed/tortured whilst merely enjoying a pop concert is totally “horrific” & “inhumane”…how can anyone support that whilst holding up your club colours?
Nor do I support an over zealous response by Israel despite supporting defeating any terrorists, the invaluable price of every civilians life is paramount.
I was born Catholic in a loving Split Catholic/Protestant Family of Mancunian Origin.
I’m a Christian & a Proud Englishman.
When I look at the way Celtic Fans behaved tonight, it makes me “embarrassed” & can’t help thinking, perhaps it may had been better if my “Late Father” had won the “peaceful” debate my parents had as to which Christian church they got married in.
No wonder SO many people are turning away from religion towards spiritualism all religion ever seems to do is cause trouble, violence & murder.

Why Palestine though?

Why not Afghanistan and the treatment of females there? Why not Yemen and the destruction they face along with the Famine? Why not the Philippines and the aggression they're facing in the China seas?

Honestly it's a genuine question - why have they picked Palestine as their choice to get behind with all the 1000s of issues they could of gone with?

I think you’re right, it would make sense.

I sometimes wonder why, in the current situation, most of our bigots support the Israeli government when they most likely don’t like Jews seeing as they don’t like anyone unlike themselves. The only reason I can think of is because they dislike Muslims more. “My enemies’ enemy is my friend” and all that.

Honestly don't know. A lot of people support Palestine. No idea why some Celtic supporters.

Still this raises more questions though - as in does this section of Celtic supporters support peace in the area from both sides or support the violence that Hamas has been waging to try and secure more land from Israel?

Firstly not all Israeli are zionists.
Secondly if you slap me I aint going to slap you back as hard. Now imagine you are surrounded by countries that hate you and can’t wait to slap you very hard. Tell me a combat war that hasn’t been attritional ?
