Dear Seasiders,

I'd like to firstly take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year and hope you all had a joyful Christmas.

As we look ahead to what we all hope will be a positive 2024 for the football club, I wanted to thank you all for your wonderful support. As we all know, it is such a challenging time for so many people at the moment, so to still have such wonderful backing on a weekly basis is simply incredible.

Your support off the field has also been inspiring, particularly regarding the recent Festive Fundraiser campaign. I'm pleased to say over £12,000 has been kindly donated from supporters and local businesses, with this total then once again matched pound for pound by Simon Sadler's Segantii Capital Management. In total, a fantastic amount of over £24,000 was raised which was then used to purchase some wonderful gifts for children across Blackpool. Ash Hackett and his team at the Community Trust then worked with members of the first-team squad to deliver these gifts across our communities in the lead up to Christmas.

This kind of support that is demonstrated is exactly what makes Blackpool such a unique football club, and it is a real pleasure for me to lead the organisation going into the New Year. Having been in post for nearly five months now, I have seen just how much this football club means to you, the supporters. There is a strong bond between the Club and the fans, and it's vital that we continue to harness that passion and energy and use it to our advantage week-in, week-out as we come through what has been two disappointing away Christmas fixtures.

Simon, myself, David Downes, Neil Critchley, the players and all of the staff behind the scenes are working tirelessly to bring success to this football club. In particular, David, the recruitment team and Neil are continuing at pace with their plans to ensure we are as competitive as possible during the upcoming January Transfer Window. As we all know, the winter window always brings its challenges, but if the right individuals become available and fit the profile of what we’re looking for in a Blackpool player, we’re hopeful we will be able to bring in one or two who will strengthen Neil’s squad for the second half of the season.

Ultimately, we all want to be back in the Championship as soon as we can, and under Neil’s leadership that remains the aim as we head into 2024. Your support is greatly appreciated, as we collectively work together for the good of the town and the football club.

Happy New Year and see you all at Bloomfield Road on New Years Day!

Warmest wishes,
Julian Winter.

Look, none of us including people at the club are happy about where we are and the away results.

A saving grace may have been...we are ALWAYS shite at Christmas.

The club has got rid before and it didn't work out given who they went for. They wil have targets lined up for NC and what he wants to do.

All us fans can do is turn up and support the team.

There's little point in creating an unhappy atmosphere, if he continues to fail in his goal the club will act by themselves.

So for me I'll turn up and support the team.

We are the streaming, binging, whinging on social media generation. We want it all and we want it NOW.

We used to have to wait for things. Now we have Amazon prime. It feels like cheating somehow. And none of it is without consequence.

Well these next few matches might render our efforts in the window futile especially if we are going for quick fixes. I think we need some long term progressive signings from the committee and at least one really experienced quality leader on the field type and try again next year. As we are absolutely stuck with Critchley.

Are we? Really? We want it all and now!!

I'll tell you what I want Graves.

1.I want a manager(head coach) to realise he's made mistakes and continues to do so to smell the coffee and realise change in tactics and formation are needed and quickly.
I'd also like him to stop bullshitting on how well he thinks we play away from home. Stevie Wonder can see how shit we are!!

2. I want a team, who I support, admittedly, not as often as I used to, to play with some pride, passion and cohesion.

3. I'd like the owner of the club to focus on one thing at a time and stop spinning plates. If we have to tread water before we get promotion by building a new stand then so be it.
I understand you can't get new stands built, incorporate a youth set up, gain promotion and build a competitive squad in one season. No, you can't have all that now and I'm prepared to wait.

I suspect the bad feelings amongst most of the supporters would be alleviated somewhat if point 1 was ssorted and that could be done immediately.

Looks like we could be down to 1 (substitute) striker with Beesley, Kouassi and Lavery injured and Rhodes probably going back. Kenny looks to be on his way out and maybe Marv?

Pennington an Gabriel too at the back could be missing for a few games so again we have a patched up defence. The injuries and absences have certainly come thick and fast of late.

I'd like to see some real positive intent in the recruitment of 4, 5 or 6 players who are ready to walk into the 1st team, are of decent quality, match fit and experienced. A lot of bottle and leadership is needed in this squad.

Well for this season yes, although it is still possible but getting harder and harder.

But also, keep sacking people when targets are brought and about to be brought in for the last guy is unlikely to lead to success.

If we aren't to go up, or at least be up there, which would obviously be very disappointing given the stated aim, then building over multiple windows towards a better side is all we can do.

Great news with regards to the clubs fantastic support for those less fortunate within the Blackpool community. Well done.
With regards to strengthening the first 11, Winters statement is as vague as we expected:
As we all know, the winter window always brings its challenges, but if the right individuals become available and fit the profile of what we’re looking for in a Blackpool player, we’re hopeful we will be able to bring in one or two who will strengthen Neil’s squad for the second half of the season.
Let's see which players leave (Kenny / Marv / JR?) & compare their loss to the quality of any incomings.
Our family will continue our long history of supporting BFC & are very proud to do so. However, we don't have to support Critchley (for several reasons) & his annoying fist pumping (when the going is good).
Good luck & good health to all BFC supporters the world over & to our players in 2024.

A good message and nothing explicitly about keeping Critch, but the fact that’s they’ve gone out the way to say he’ll be here in 2024 does say that they’ll give him longer than most people want.

Fans who want him gone should just get behind him because he ain’t goin anywhere soon and creating a toxic atmosphere will only make things worse.
So, no matter how bad any situation is you should just bear with it and carry on. Glad you wasn't leading the Oyston out campaign 🤦

The only thing that'll create a more toxic atmosphere is if Critchley continues in his formations that don't work.

It’s a standard issue release that is neither personal or illuminating. Don’t see the point of talking at people. We could sign ten players and it would make no difference if you have a manager who plays players out of position and in a one track system they are ill-suited to accomplish. If we fail to make the play-offs we can clearly see it will be a team effort of enabling by Sadler and Winter and incompetence by Critchley.

Ahh so we should all continue to travel to away games spending thousands to watch the same old shit every week. With a post match interview of "there's positives to build on" and lots of erms ..
Great 😃

If Critchley does the same things with the same players and expects different results then what should a real fan do? Clap along and say well done , hard luck? As in our relegation season last year we seem to specialize in avoidable stupidity. It’s nothing to do with opinions. At this point manager and chairman have hard data to guide their decision making. No excuses for either of them.

Gabriel injured again? Never available get rid if possible

Hardly a long term commitment to Critchley “they’ve gone out the way to say he’ll be here in 2024” that means he’s got at least one more day.🤣

Are you finding that from your money tree?

Yes, because having a manager going on a bad run is the equivalent of having an asset stripping owner who is actively trying to destroy the club.

Sound.

Fair, just reading between the leaves it seems like they’re going to give him January with the talk of player recruitment.

Never been any different it’s nothing to do with generation.
The only difference is that people communicated amongst themselves. Now people communicate on a global platform .
The moaning has always been there.
Football fans moan whenever their team loses a match. Fact .

Now is the Winter of our discontent. Incredible backing? Foolhardy season ticket purchases before Critchley's return. Unwarranted continued support for him from directors. Squad players handed out gifts to communities? Rare delivery on the road.

What makes Blackpool a unique club? Rehiring inept coaches. The club is an exciting place to be around? Did he suffer the dross in most away games? Critch and the players' tireless work to bring success? The same lazy failed tactics and lethargic displays?

The challenge to add "one or two" signings? Minimalism, amid the need for radical changes. Don't see him at Bloomers tomorrow. The best chance to shed the 3-5-2 obsessive and for playoff quality buys remains to boycott till he goes.

We’re not ‘stuck with Critchley’, we’re fortunate to have him here at Blackpool FC, because he’s a great fit for the Club.

There’s no doubt that things haven’t gone as well as we might have hoped for so far this season, but there is plenty of reason for optimism about the future.

How come the same optimism for the future regarding Critchley wasn’t shared by Villa or QPR? Or that there hasn’t been a frenzy to have him as there manager? The future for BFC will be based on good judgement devoid of ego.

There's not a lot else he can say is there.

Even if we did have cash and intended to spend it you don't come out and say you're looking to spend big as teams will just inflate the price.

Spot on. NC needs to own up to HIS mistakes and stop sugarcoating poor performances. It’s clear as day the team isn’t playing well. Passion and pride is non-negotiable. As for SS and the board, focusing on too many things at once rarely works. Get us back in the Champ and then worry about the East.
