Their driving is that bad, you probably can't tell the difference (F1 drivers included!)It’s really crazy and obviously good how stigmatic drink driving is in the UK. In Holland half the population still do it with a grin
Exactly, Ant McParland, the Spurs keeper etc, etc. Just pay someone sober to drive you home, there are plenty of sober people who will take your money.Never understand this, the blokes minted and could afford a driver if he wanted. Just get a cab you pleb.
It amazes us, how nobs like those you mention are quickly forgiven, return to super star status & return to earning millions. If you're a lawyer, doctor, teacher, cop etc, you're highly likely to lose your job, career, income, house etc.Exactly, Ant McParland, the Spurs keeper etc, etc. Just pay someone sober to drive you home, there are plenty of sober people who will take your money.
Adam has probably just cost himself a lucrative career as a pundit, idiot.
This time of the year, all Police forces conduct 'morning after' road checks, with the intention of catching those who have alcohol in their system from the night before.People break the law and get punished so its a 'move on' from me, and I'm sure he's regretting already.
Funnily enough I was reading yesterday that in Sweden the drink drive limits are considerably less, so effectively you'd had to forego a drink 24 hours before getting into a vehicle which makes drink/driving tolerable.
One or two might be over the limit with the Christmas period coming up and without realising it be breaking the law.
It looks like it was a bit more than a spoonful of Night Nurse. It’s not hard to get pulled in Scotland for drunk driving anyway, as they have a medicinal limit only.
I'm not sure taking out half a tree and leaving bits of your car is done on just medicinal limits at half four in the morning. Well steaming would appear to be Charlie's state. It’s not hard to get pulled in Scotland for drunk driving anyway, as they have a medicinal limit only.
You may well be rightIt looks like it was a bit more than a spoonful of Night Nurse.
Alleged gents, let's not throw him under the bus until it has been confirmed.
That's crap unless the missing word is scotch. I used to use an app called RUPissed to check my status (always to ensure near zero before driving) and it does not take that long for a bottle of wine to leave the system. This time of the year, all Police forces conduct 'morning after' road checks, with the intention of catching those who have alcohol in their system from the night before.
A TV doctor stated last week, that if you drink a bottle of in the evening, it'll be at least 1pm the next day before you're below the legal limit.
I'm sure there's a perfectly innocent explanation for it all.Has Charlie admitted it or been convicted of it ?
Just asking
Are you sure? He hasn't hit anyone...Nailed on for the next Fleetwood manager after this.
Or has he? Talksport employ exclusively drink drivers it seems - for instance Dean Saunders was back in a flashExactly, Ant McParland, the Spurs keeper etc, etc. Just pay someone sober to drive you home, there are plenty of sober people who will take your money.

Presumably people drink drive is because they have had a drink and common sense has left the building.... Why do people dance like a knobhead or argue the toss with bouncers or throw up all over the bathroom etc... Alcohol makes people do stupid stuffOr has he? Talksport employ exclusively drink drivers it seems - for instance Dean Saunders was back in a flash
Sometimes, but obviously not always, this kind of thing is an indication of something deeper going on. On a human level I hope he's OK, but why oh why would anybody drink drive these days?
I would never drink drive sober.....Presumably people drink drive is because they have had a drink and common sense has left the building.... Why do people dance like a knobhead or argue the toss with bouncers or throw up all over the bathroom etc... Alcohol makes people do stupid stuff
Yep, if you were sober you wouldn't drink drive.Presumably people drink drive is because they have had a drink and common sense has left the building.... Why do people dance like a knobhead or argue the toss with bouncers or throw up all over the bathroom etc... Alcohol makes people do stupid stuff
The drink drive limit should be zero, drink anything and drive a car then you don't deserve a licence.** idiot, he's also lucky to be alive, a tree is about as bad as a thing you can hit in a car, lots of fatalities from those accidents, pissed or not.
I did an intoximeter course many years ago when I was in the old bill and we were shown how everything worked etc., they then took us to the police bar and we were allowed to drink what we could in an hour. I had 3 pints of Guiness and because I hadn't eaten and it was in a short space of time I felt pretty pissed, the others on the course (4 of us) also had similar. We went back down to the machine and had to wait 45 minutes after the last drink, which is apparently when you are at peak alcohol level and all 4 of us blew under the limit, well under. We couldn't believe it and none of us would have driven home.
After the last drink and the 45 minutes the alcohol level starts to fall so someone who had a night out on the lash and went to bed at say 2am and was in a car at 8am, if they were over the limit they would have had to have had a lot of booze the night before!
After the course, if someone came in for drink drive and said they'd only had a couple yet blew 2 or 3 times over the limit then they had had a skilful.
Just stupid.Sad but Stupid!!!!!
Glad he is ok & more so no one else was affected.
We all make mistakes in life but Charlie seems to make more than most.
Like I say “Sad but STUPID”!!!!!!
You can’t do that…The drink drive limit should be zero, drink anything and drive a car then you don't deserve a licence.
I'd also make the punishment licence gone for good, non of this 2 years crap.
I'm not sure if you look at the evidence of reoffending that the rules are that fine. You can’t do that…
For one thing it’s not necessary and disproportionate as far as the risk to life is concerned.
Then there are all manner of issues concerning low levels of alcohol, which might exist in foods, medicines etc..
As for the punishment, it’s also disproportionate and would likely make matters worse.
The rules are perfectly fine as they are… If we are short of anything then it’s the will to enforce the law as it stands, along with additional PR / education…
A second offence is a different matter... So you increase the punishment in those cases..I'm not sure if you look at the evidence of reoffending that the rules are that fine.
Trace elements are completely different to a unit of alcohol.
I can only repeat what the doctor said. That's crap unless the missing word is scotch. I used to use an app called RUPissed to check my status (always to ensure near zero before driving) and it does not take that long for a bottle of wine to leave the system.
Drink drive is totally unforgiveable. I would also say that I have very strong views on professional footballers drinking during the season. I have no problem with the low earners, but those in the Championship / EPL are paid enough to sacrifice that. In most other sports (e.g. cycling, track & field) they do not drink during the season
So it's acceptable to have three pints and get in the car because you know you'll probably pass a breathalyser?A second offence is a different matter... So you increase the punishment in those cases..
The prospect still exists for people to inadvertently have alcohol in their system and for loads of people who pose no risk to be criminalised and inconvenienced.... And where do you stop?
Do we then stop all old people from driving, maybe stop lads of a certain age from driving... Zero tolerance on all forms of drugs and medications... You must have 8 hours sleep before driving and take an enforced break every 2 hours etc...?
Any issue with drink drivers isn't as a result of people 'inadvertently' dipping over the limits... It's with people who've had way too much.
It's the classic "Bring Back Hanging" reactive stuff
No, but it is acceptable to go for a drive out for lunch and have a pint, to have a couple of pints before the footy and then drive home afterward, to pop out for a couple over a lunch or have an after work pint with workmates or to sink a pint after a game of squash or five aside before driving home.So it's acceptable to have three pints and get in the car because you know you'll probably pass a breathalyser?
