Just signed for wigan on loan until the end of the season. His contract with Brentford ends in May
He’s been pretty much constantly injured since 2020. Not what we need in the slightest. He summed up our ridiculous transfer policy last season (see also Trybull, Bridcutt)I thought he looked pretty “good”. Would have had him back
Didn't realise he was 28, christ. Thought he was early 20s and considered a Brentford prospect.I thought he was decent but only saw him for a couple of games. Looks like Brentford felt the same about his injuries etc
Brentford set to release Charlie Goode at the end of the season
28-year-old has suffered with injuries while out on loan from the Beeswww.standard.co.uk
He tore his hamstring running for the ball. Injuries will happen but last season we were particularly unlucky with injuries……you only have to look at Jordan Gabriel and how unlucky he was. He’s been pretty much constantly injured since 2020. There’s an element of being unlucky but signing players like Goode, Trybull, Bridcutt, Stewart who had awful injury records before joining us isn’t unlucky. It was a clear transfer policy to gamble on players with poor injury records in hope we would get a better quality player for cheaper and it failed completely. It’s a policy we’ve been using for a while (e.g. Ward, Stewart, Dougall, Garbutt) but last season it completely failed and showed it up for being a shocking policyHe tore his hamstring running for the ball. Must look good in shorts thenHe went to the same school as George Michael and Andrew Ridgley.
that's just a Careless Whisper....He went to the same school as George Michael and Andrew Ridgley.
I'd say it wasn't so much of a policy, more a consequence of a summer transfer window that, for whatever reason, went wrong. There’s an element of being unlucky but signing players like Goode, Trybull, Bridcutt, Stewart who had awful injury records before joining us isn’t unlucky. I wouldn't mind signing another winger or maybe an attacking centre mid. Carey, OB and Virtue aren't good enough in my opinion.I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't sign anyone else between now and the end of the window. Keeping Rhodes and adding Coulson has been decent business. If we do sign someone it has to be someone who goes straight in the side.
When asked if he wanted to sign for us he apparently responded ‘I’m your man’that's just a Careless Whisper....
They keep recurring in my life recently. It’s really weird. He went to the same school as George Michael and Andrew Ridgley.
