Charlie is a Cod

I can't wait to see how he fares , he won't play a 3 5 2 or let his players pass it backwards constantly a great opportunity for him and nice to see someone given a chance rather than being 'proven'. Just hope Dobbie doesn't jump ship to be with his mate.
uhm your last sentence, hadn’t thought of that tbh but why wouldn’t he, if offered of course.

Would have been a good replacement for quitch, prob to expensive, can you imagine a manager with a bit about him….errrm errrrm …🤣

We all know the owner is a Blackpool fan, what is that now number 5(one interim) who've played for us then managed them?

Just watched Knapper's latest vlog in which he manfully tries to say something positive about the appointment - and largely fails.

It's an odd move for me. You sack a vastly experienced manager who was presumably planning for his first transfer window to bring in someone who has never done the job for real. It's certainly high risk, and I do wonder who is actually making these decisions there now.

Lee Johnson is a vastly experienced manager who generally fails. Seems like a good decision to me. No idea why they employed LJ in the first place.

Only interested in what’s beat for us and as I don’t think we’re going up this season Fleetwood going down is best for us. I say this as a successful Fleetwood is competition for us, that competition may be small but it’s still there, FTFC have been very active in trying to build a fan base with kids in areas such as Thornton, kids that may have been Tangerine. Also can’t say I’m the slightest bit interested in a rivalry with Fleetwood and to be honest find it embarrassing being in the same division. For those reasons not interested who their manager is only interested in what’s best for BFC

That must be over 100 words to say you're not interested...

Five points from safety and this kind of desperation makes me think Fleetwood are certs to go down.

Andy Pilley will still be making the big decisions .

Assume he knows about the POCA?
Surely it’s only a matter of time. Poor choice CA.
He damn well better not take Dobbie up the road.

First job so it's a bit of a gamble and I thought Pilley would go for experience. Also anything ex Blackpool never seems to work out for them. I wish him all the best though , my favourite Blackpool player and I'm nearly 60.
Fleetwood have spent ten years in L1 so they have done a lot right including building a training ground that seems years away for us if at all. I would be sorry to see them go down but we still haven't seen any clue if Pilleys jail sentence will affect them or not.

First training session, Cods looking forward to hearing about 'THE free kick and how to emulate.
CA rocks up, "Morning boys, great to be here. First things first, need you to watch and learn..."

He might succeed but he might fail; nobody on here knows for certain.

Unbelievably, a Blackpool fan referred to Charlie as a xxnt on another thread; I hope Charlie succeeds in management because, to me, he certainly succeeded on the pitch for us.

Succeeded is a bit of an understatement, a Rangers cast off signed for half a million and 2 years later he was on the shortlist for PFA player of the year, putting him amongst the best 5-10 players in the whole country.

Yeah I don't get why people want a rival to do well, its odd.

No matter how small, they are pushing hard in those areas you mention and competing for fans. The fylde coast is limited in catchment area compared to inland and it's also full of people with other allegiances anyway, so hard enough.

I want BFC to be the best it can be.

This the very same ** who let yer kids play on his training ground..... Ooofff....... You'd have to be a right ** if you didn't provide a playing surface for your kids when pilley did...

Fair point. However, I think Charlie will be a good manager and will manage us in the future.

When we were looking for a new manager last summer, he didn't get a mention and there's a reason for that because I genuinely don't think he will make a good manager - not now anyway.

Smacks of desperation on both sides.
IMO CA has picked up a poisoned chalice, not an ideal first j
First Job - we all have to start somewhere and not many are willing to give ex players a chance and it's so hard to get your first league management job as experience counts - Look at Andy Preece for example - lovely knowledgeable bloke but will he ever get a chance at more than Chorley?

He should have waited.

Nah - he could be waiting forever - get a start and see where it takes you - at least he's not doing a Rooney!
