Anyone used it ?

I have an account with them but not really used it. As I’m off to New York soon I’ve been looking at payment options whilst there and Chase has no fees for this and uses the Mastercard exchange rate, which looks slightly better than my Natwest debit card. Natwest also charges a fee per transaction.

So I’m thinking yeah, give it a go.

Any thoughts or experiences most appreciated.

Enjoy LaLa - Great place. If you haven't been before, the September 11 Memorial/Museum is amazing and emotional.

Not used this bank but I've a currensea card / app that I use when abroad. Links to your current bank account. Check it out it's very good.

6 days Chunks, on Feb 12th, so just getting all my bits sorted 😀
How awesome!! Have you got an itinerary planned?
I’ve been there a lot through work and having friends living there, and it pretty much delivers something new each time. It is expensive though.

Lala just be aware tipping in restaurants is not really discretionary but mandatory….and don’t think 10%…..on our visit to San Francisco at the end of a cruise we got our bill with suggested Tip rates from 12 1/2 % to 18% and menus were priced at pre local taxes too so you could find it even more expensive.
So effectively we were paying around 20% more each meal and we had a few,but the food was good and generous portions.
Not been to New York but imagine it will be similar….but i am sure you will enjoy it.

Just working on it now Chunks.
Am going with daughter and granddaughter and we may have slightly different plans.
Open top bus tour for me to start with as it always helps me get my bearings in a new city when I do this.
Then empire state buildings, ground zero, the Dakota, Brooklyn Bridge, Rockerfella Center, Central Park etc etc and the last day will be a shopping bonanza (ish).
Looking at taking in a show, not usually my thing, but keep getting told it’s a must. And a bit of people watching coffee breaks just to take it all in.

Take a subway over to Chelsea market. Plenty for the girls there. Them walk the Highline just by the market. It’s great fun and pops out at Hells Kitchen where there is more fun

Funnily enough I have another pal going on Monday and her holiday rep recommended walking the Highline to them. Will work it in to my itinery 😀 thank you !

Looks perfect, thanks 👍 Did you enjoy your visit ?
Love it there, been a few times in late autumn. We did a huge amount of walking, didn’t use the subway at all. It’s tiring but you get to weave your way around the city, and of course have regular refreshment breaks. You’ve got lots of time to see everything in 6 days.

If you are interested in a cruise on the river, we used this company

Book in to the inside of the Crown on The SoL well worth it . 👍

Many years since I went but I loved every minute. One of the most memorable experiences for me was actually Ellis Island. We did it as part of a boat tour with Liberty Island. I have to admit to not really being aware of Ellis Island and the history behind it but what a lasting memory it made, a really emotive place.

Would of suggested watching The Knicks play basketball at MSG but they are away during your visit, maybe try The Brooklyn Nets instead...

Have a good time Lala. Very unique city and an absolute melting pot. The west coasters kept telling me how there is an ‘unfriendly vibe’ about New Yorkers but complete strangers went out of their way to give me directions, recommendations and even local history without me even asking!
