China Women v England Women 12 noon on ITV

Handball and penalty yes, but I'm not sure she should have got a yellow card as it wasn't deliberate.

I think it shows the rules have become so overcomplicated that even VAR and referees don't know what they are nevermind simpleton spectators like me.
original rule of offside was opponent seeking to gain an unfair advantage it always used to annoy me when a free kick was taken and all the defence ran forward split second before the ball was kicked leaving several players offside to me that wasnt a forward seekig to gain an unfair advantage

What is this ref doling?

She gets in the way of a Chinese shot at goal stops play then gives the ball back to England. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Anyway 6–1.

I said on a thread of England's first game that Lauren James reminds me of a female Kenny Dalglish the way she drops off the front player, makes clever runs and finishes clinically. Nothing I've seen today changes my opinion.

This will have done the team a world of good. They'll feel like they have arrived and be buzzing for the knock out rounds. Well played Lionesses. 👏🏼

A very well deserved win against a team I thought would have given us trouble. As for the rules now, I must admit that I'm often flummoxed by the interpretations. It just goes to show that if you take a simple game like football, select a few holier than now know it alls' to run the game, add a bunch of idiots with cameras looking for each and every slight indiscretion on the pitch and then overruling the match ref, your simple game of football turns into something that no longer resembles the game that you knew and loved. I hate to think what the future holds.

Don't need to worry now about missing Beth Mead.
Beth Mead’s a winger, if she was fit they’d both be starting.
Lauren’s replacing Fran Kirby, I’m sure that if Fran was fit she’d be starting ahead of Lauren. Probably not from now on, though!
If we were at full strength, we’d be smashing this.
