Chinese

It is faitr to say that China has some very strange practises.... Obviously beating their own citizens regularly is pretty much accepted practice there but dog and bat bothering surely needs to stop?
 
I know it’s not going to go down well, but we eat things that other cultures see as barbaric.
Muslims won’t eat pigs, Hindus don’t eat cows, Buddhists don’t eat animals full stop.
The treatment of their food animals is a different matter, but should we really judge what they eat?

That’s a fair point Jonno.
I would like them to leave the bats alone though......

They skin dogs alive, set them on fire. That's a lot different
 
I once saw a video of a dog being skinned alive for its fur, in China, which actually made me fill up and cry. Once relieved of its fur, it was thrown onto a pile of other dogs that had been likewise treated. The poor thing was still alive, just. Bloody awful treatment of animals in that country.

Know very little about chinese culture but they have appalling human rights and snimsl welfare practices
I'm sure there is worse in the planet but can only comment on what is in front of then
 
Those bastards are on the verge of being the most powerful force in the world. Western values over the last 40 years have become a Liberal force for the good. They will take things rapidly backwards with regards to human rights and animal welfare. I read that the average looking bloke in the world looks Chinese, we don't see a mass of Chinese people but there are 1.5 bn of them.
 
Yeah.....just seen that RSPCA advert where over 10,000 dogs and cats are rescued every year from abusive owners
Imagine that...having to have an organisation in the UK that has to stop people from abusing a defenceless animal......

Just shows that it's people that are total cnuts........and old Mahatma's quote was aimed directly at the ENGLISH.

Dunno. Seems to me that abusing your pets isn't the same as caging them with their front legs behind their backs, skinning them alive and then cooking them. I might be wrong though.

Except that the market is a legal annual 'festival'.
 
I'm not condoning it...if anybody came near my dogs with a knife and fork.....I would #@#$%&; them without a thought.

Having been to China quite a few times and eaten stuff that would make your eyes water, you have to understand that they see animals in a totally different way to us...not our western way....they don't keep 'pets'...it's food....everything to the Chinese is food

To me, it's barbaric what they do...I couldn't watch that stuff....the thought makes me upset.....
But amazes me (although it is Tango) that someone can blame a whole country of 1.4billion people for something we find abhorrent.
