Christmas TOTP

Always watch the old ones and just watched the 1978 Xmas special presented by Noel Edmonds and it was superb but it made me a bit sad as to how we went from that to modern day. Legs and Co danced to Grease and Saturday Night Fever all with a smile on their face whilst showing a bit of cleavage, wouldn’t be allowed today. The teenagers all looked happy to be there dancing merrily away without the need to check a phone every 30 seconds. Simpler times, no gangster rap just solid pleasant tunes Showaddywaddy Brotherhood of Man, ABBA, Boney M, Darts etc all timeless tunes still enjoyed 44 years later. I think they still have a Christmas Day totp but can pretty much guarantee they won’t reshow it in 44 years times.

Ladbaby number one for the fifth year running. Most Christmas No1s, taking away the record from The Beatles.

FFS.

I'm saying it's hardly taking music in new ways. Plus to be Christmas No 1 these days you don't sell anything like what you had to.

I just put it on You Tube.

How could you leave out Mull of Kintyre ?

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Not woke enough Wiz. You didn't show enough empathy when trying to enjoy music. Must try harder 😜

Kate Bush is another shocking omission Memphis.

Are you sure you watched it ?

The crowd at TOTP always looked bored and nervous, the nerves were understandable considering Saville was usually around, if they were really unlucky Gary Glitter would be on the show. John Peel used to present it mind you and he'd divorced his 15 year old wife by then.

Ah, the golden years...

No not all enjoyed. Absolute shite compared to what was really starting that year.

The Beatles always kept their charitable giving private. I don't suppose it's been a misely figure over the years.
We’ll never know if it’s private. 🤷‍♂️

I’am sure many other big bands/stars have contributed at some stage over the years but if they don’t want the recognition fair enough.
