CJ Hamilton signs new contract

Love him or hate him, you cannot deny Critchley is getting the best out of him and he’s a very good league one player. Positive move. Hopefully a few more to come over the next few months
Yes for the first time for a number of years it is which current players including loans we can sign being more important than new potential recruits.

That's the key. CJ's motoring under Critchley's direction.

Like him or not, it's the intent from the club that's surely a positive - that we want to keep our first team players that are playing well like CJ and Casey, and we want stability and continuity. Not to mention the fact that the players want to stay. There are plenty of positives to take from it, even if you're not keen on CJ himself.

We went for years when our better players couldn't wait to get away at the first whiff of interest, and our chairman couldn't wait to drive them to their next destination.

No one mentioning Marvin? Get him signed up ffs!!!! Have we played a binder by not playing him much or has it meant he IS on the radar for other clubs after him on a free? He will 100% be a valuable first teamer again and the same with Lyon’s but I think he’s with us on contract still? Get Marv signed asap and then those mentioned above. After they are signed have a sweep out with a few players going at least. Tharme, maybe Thompson although he’s decent at L1, I’m 50/50 on Carey, 50/50 on Dale, 50/50 on Morgan despite him playing a blinder of a second half v Barnsley and there’s one or two others too. Anyway, sweep some out n maybe look to sign just a couple of decent players. No scattergun approach where 1 in 3 or 4 work out.

Not Championship class in my opinion. Done fantastically well this season but seriously lacking at the level above. And in reality, we can and should do better.

👍 What a great signing he’s proved to be. Cost only £200k and worth a whole lot more than that now.

Yes he was poor for much of last season, but so was the majority of the squad.

He was very good in League one before his injury and it was only last year that he was causing all sorts of problems against the likes of Premier League teams in waiting such as Bournemouth and Fulham.

It’s truly mind boggling how people wrote him off and didn’t think he’d prosper against the likes of Stevenage and Portsmouth.

Which one was it?

I wish he’d be left around the half way line for their corners. Even if they left 2 back, if the ball was played in front of him ant not near the keeper he’d have every chance of him v keeper a few times per game. And is our defence really stronger with him back as well as everyone else? It baffles me why we don’t use his pace with this tactic?

To be fair, he's more usefull for defending corners than Dembele, but I completely agree about leaving a player up for defensive corners!

Great news.
He’s been mega this season. Plus he’s an integral part of the group.
When we score you can see what it means to him even if he’s not the scorer Portsmouth away an example.
Good player . Good person. Good attitude.
