CJ has nude photos of Critchely

It needs a rethink from Critchley as far as CJ is concerned.I bet he only kept him on as to spare him the derision from the fans as he trudged of the pitch

CJ needs to play on the left or not at all, just let him run and cross, this playing him on the right and making him think about anything is just asking for trouble, so frustrating

What a shocking o/p
What's shocking about it

Are you shocked that I find CJ Hamilton a frustrating player to watch

Or are you shocked that Critchley plays cautious football

For years people have been saying the same about Hamilton and don't let 45 mins against Burton fool you, we went several games with only 1 or 2 shots during his first tenure

CJ is good at times and terrible at other times. And we get a mix of both in a match. He can certainty beat a player and he tracks back well when he needs to. I don't think that he was our worst player last night and think there were some wider issues:

1. Defence. Marv - as already mentioned, unless he can play a simple square pass then he seems incapable of bringing the ball forward or playing a decent forward pass on the ground without putting someone else under pressure (decision making awful at times). He does occasionally hit a long pass, but usually when he is under pressure and has no other options. I thought he looked slow last night. I have seen Pennington in other than one match and he looked decent. It may be worth trying him or Connolly, with Casey, who has looked our best centre back so far this season. We are still missng an experienced left sided centre back in the squad. Lyons has looked lacklustre this season and needs to improve. Husband has been very good, but as a left back /LWB rather than a CB. It will also help when Gabriel is back to give us more options on the right.

2. Midfield. Norburn has been a great signing but some of the others have been AWOL for large parts of matches. Carey, in particulat has been poor so far this season and should not start atm. Dougall and Morgan had no presence in the first half, although did improve (particularly Morgan) in the second half. Because of this their midfield were all over us and we hardly ever tracked them or showed any mobility ourselves. Virtue should be given a start as he offers more going forward and scores a few goals. . Early days on Weir, but midfield last night was lacking the creativity go open up defences and support the attack with some goals. We are still lacking that and need to sign someone.

3. Attack. The service to Lavery was very poor. Already mentioned that there was poor production from midfield and even when a player got to the byline, the delivery of the cross was usually poor (and not just from CJ). And not having any height up front, until Beesley came on later, just doesn't work when we pumped quite a lot of long balls forward or hit high crosses. Whilst we haven't seen Joseph yet, we still lack quality and depth up front. And Grimshaw needs to improve his kicking to the forwards!

4. Tactics. NC says that we are still learning and will need a bit of time to properly gel and that we haven't conceded a goal yet. That is fine, but we also haven't faced what we expect to be the better sides in this division yet either. And we need to create chances and put them away if we are to stand any chance of promotion. Keeping posession across the defence at a slow pace just invites the opposition on us and also allows them to keep a shape to defend against us. We need to move the ball much quicker and to go forward more readily. The start against Burton illustrated that. That also requires the midfield to be more mobile than last night. I am not convinced yet by this wing back system and wonder whether we have the quality of players to do it. Husband seemed to be biggest threat going forward last night. Defences hate out and out wingers if they get behind defences and cause havic in the box. We seem to lack that option atm, together with at least one more striker to support Lavery.
Solid start, but a bit disappointing and must improve and we also need to add some additional quality before the window closes, if we are to be promotion contenders.

Its the absolute truth though.
It's not though. People look for faults with CJ, whereas Marv looks like he's playing in ice skates and constantly has to make goal saving tackles to recover from his own gaffes, yet is seen as one of our better players.

To be fair I don't think you need to look very hard for CJs faults. Ive no doubt he tries his socks off but I just don't think he's very good, nor will he ever be.

Wiz, he belongs two divisions lower in the pyramid and his only asset in football is his pace.
For the number of times he passes it to the first defended when he crosses it he needs to put one of their shirts on because it is just embarrassing for a professional footballer.

If he is always the answer and starts every game when he is poor 95% of the time, then we are fucked because some people must have a very low bar set if they are trying to defend him.

If he has to play he should be upfront with only one instruction and that is don't come back and defend as he is incapable of taking too much information in and applying it.

Great post Pete!

The problem is he is arguably our most threatening player, who else looks like they have the ability to get round their man and make something happen? Fundamentally we lack players who will take a man on, it’s easy for the opposition to stay in shape when we only look to pass it around
When was the last time you saw Hamilton take a man on and beat him? When was the last time he made something happen? He’s league two at best, if we have any pretentions of promotion he has to go.

Regards Marv i said in an earlier thread. he needs to play it long first time and let the midfield deal with it (just get rid of the ball please Marv) .

As TangerineTom states CJ is one of the very few players that can make something happen

He gets a lot of stick but he gives his all every game and when he’s on it he’s good

Well if CJ has naked pics of Critch, imagine what Maxwell had on Appleton and McCarthy .. I get the feeling a donkey might have been involved 😱
P.S. Notice he's been on the bench for Udders so far.

Absolutely true, the stick he gets is a joke and I just hope he dosent read message boards. The truth is he is probably the only one capable of turning a game on his own. His tracking back, which never seems to get mentioned, as I guess people don't like saying anything positive about him was very impressive. He made 2 that I can remember important challenges against Port Vale after running 3/4 of the pitch to do so.
