CJ... how is he starting

But how the hell is he playing every game and starts

Today he was Awful .. only thing he can do is get behind a player (with a pass) with his pace but then squares it to a defender 99% of times.

Today he chested the ball and it went 5/10 yards towards an imps player.. it was shocking..as was open goal he missed

Can anyone defend his start?

He absolutely has to be dropped. He is so bad. Steve Thompson said it best: you could forgive the odd misplaced pass as his pace is a massive asset, but it’s 90% of his passes going to the opposition. He is an absolute shambles and a complete liability.

It’s not just his football ability either, it’s his mentality and demeanour. He’s so passive . A proper fairy, never stamps any sort of authority on to anything he does. A fart in the wind.

Normally try to stay positive but we should free up some budget this week by moving CJ and Beesley on. They’re abysmal.

Just had me mate on the phone on way back pissed out his head

“CJ Hamilton has a worse chest than my ex-Mrs “ 😆😆

You’ve gotta laugh, it tickled me but I suppose I know her.

His touch is so so bad.

But we’ve ended up with him being our only wide attacking option, bar for Apter who can’t get a kick.

CJ is completely out of his depth if we're trying to play a possession game, which seems to be the case.

Unfortunately playing him out of position has seem him regress, but he's not the only one, Ekpiteta may not have been great on the ball in thr past, but has struggled too. Having said that CJ's display today was terrible even by his mixed standards.

Not a good performance and he’s clearly short of confidence, but he did set up two gilt edged chances from which we would expect to score.
He’s clearly a better player than that as his performances in League one three years ago and also when he returned from injury in the second half of 2022 will testify.
I think the insipid performances of Morgan, Dale, Dougall and Lyons, who didn’t create anything between them, are far more concerning.

The guys an awful footballer, I've always said it but some defend him because he has a decent game about 2/3 times per season. Not only is he a terrible footballer he's a bottle job, shircs challenges and hides during games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, National League footballer with pace.
Same and what everyone saw today is what he does every game but it was so apparent because we passed to him more than usual.
It's taken a bad defeat and a co-commentator to point out the obvious.

He is playing simply because we have no other player with the pace to dribble past a player. Carey and Morgan can not do that. Dale
is not quick enough. We need to get two quick wide players in.

If we move those two on we’re even lighter going forward. Personally I don’t think Dale is up to much either.

Very poor today but poor from Critchley keeping him on as well, don’t know why.

Thompson must be wondering what he has to do to get a game, I’m not his biggest fan either but CJ needs time out.

It wasn’t Steve Thompson on co-commentary either, it was Steve Eyre (no, I’ve no idea who he is either!). Either way though, he was absolutely slating Hamilton and on today you can’t blame him. He also said he would have taken Norburn off at HT, wish Critchley did as he is clearly hot headed and you could see he was getting wound up.

Wasn't there today but it sounded awful.

That Eyre fellow is awful and always picks on one person to slaughter; that said, it sounded like Hamilton made it very easy for him today, constantly finding a Lincoln player with his poor passing.

Norburn sounded like he had little support in midfield?

Norburn is our only good player so easy to highlight him.

He was over the top about norburn from the off and he was so far of the mark in his assesment the first half it was stupid individual mistakes costing us should have been out of sight at half time Lincoln only had 2 attacks

It's a tough one, he's not technically gifted lika say Poveda but he's fast as fuck, isn't greedy, has an eye for a pass, can cross the ball very well from the left and has proven that he can score goals. All that says to me is that he can punish teams if given the ball in the right places. Whilst we don't play football in a way that suits him, he's not going to be as effective as he can be.

He’s fast as fuck yes but your other points…

Has an eye for a pass? he can’t pass.
Can cross the ball very well? He can’t cross
Proven that he can score goals? He has 3 in 2 and a bit years!

Added to the other comments also that he has nothing about him, can’t/won’t tackle and shirks challenges and duals I completely agree… and at a loss to what NC and other managers see/saw in him.

Scored 5 in 20/21 & 3 in the championship despite being played as a wingback, his assists improved in the Championship though. But don't let facts cloud your judgement! 😉

Called it for years, atrocious footballer. Lost it over 50% of the time he had the ball today. How he wasn’t hooked at half time or after 20 minutes is beyond me.
I know it's been said, in jest, on more occasions than I care to remember, but, really, what do fans think it can possibly be that CJ has 'got' on Critch? With his automatic selection for the 1st team seemingly guaranteed, and after the countless 'horror show' displays he's been treating us to this season, with what can only be described as truly 'bewildering' performancess, I can only guess that CJ is 'party to this snippet' of information and that it must be something quite grim/disturbing for the manager to want to keep this particular skeleton 'hidden in his wardrobe'... Anyone care to speculate?

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here. Quite the achievement.

Yep, we've long speculated on the fact he must know where NC's bodies are buried. Maybe NC (or someone close to him) is his agent?
He is quick, and that really is it. A fast shit pub player can cross a decent ball and make a pass every now and again.

Hamilton can be effective coming on as a sub in a 4 3 3 in the last 20 minutes......and obviously playing as a wide attacking player not at right back!!

He was switched to the left in the second half as so many on here wanted but actually looked worse on that side.
Lyons was fairly anonymous on the other side again but in the 2nd half Lincoln just sat back and gave us possession
CJ was poor yesterday, he gave the ball away a lot but he was still our most dangerous player.
Was he worse than Dale for instance? - what did Dale actually do?
CJ put Conolley in after 2 minutes and then put Rhodes in before missing the rebound himself
In the second half he blazed over from a good position just outside the box.
I've defended him before but he was poor yesterday in a very poor team performance.
The one positive thing for me was Rhodes - I'm pretty sure he will score for us fairly frequently

CJ set up Lincoln yesterday to win a penalty and put them 3 on 2 also. He actually had more assists for Lincoln than anything for Blackpool.

It's stupidity to pick CJ at RWB. Absolute madness. Even CJ I felt knew he shouldn't be playing there. Then when he switched you could see his confidence had gone.

He offers something a bit different to the 4/5 identikit midfielders we have though.

Play him in the correct position in games that require him. He's not a 46 a season pick and should be used as appropriate.

He was bad yesterday as were many others. All made to look stupid.

What does he offer from the bench? And can you give me an example when he's changed the game from the bench?

I've asked this question to about 50 people. And no one has an answer.

Steve Eyre said he lost count of times CJ gave ball away.
Same most games & still starts & rarely subbed.
Why?
Steve Eyre also thought he was right footed, and was giving high praise for norburn warm up.

Consistently playing him on the right has I think made CJ very aware of his limitations and hence he's not playing with much confidence. Probably needs a break for a few weeks, but he's always been a decent supplier of chances when played to his strengths and pops up with a few goals.

Would love to see the analysis report on CJs performance yesterday. Number of successful passes etc. He has pace but hardly uses it.

I recall second half he had 3 players around him when he had the ball, but he received too high up and too late for it to be of use.

He had a very poor game, but wasn't alone.
