He was scared of his own shadow the other day and has been pretty pathetic in almost every game he has started since his new deal.

It's not a one off it's a regular feature now and Critchley is destroying what good there is in him.

I agree Critchley needs to look after him better. He must know what he’s good at and what he isn’t.

There’s always players that pull out off challenges so I wouldn’t hammer him for that.

I agree there are games where CJ would probably be better starting off on the bench but that’s down to Critchley.

I didn’t watch the game on Saturday so I can’t comment on that particular performance.

I think the problem is that apart from Dembele we have nobody else that can take a player on and go past them.

CJ can so that’s why he starts more than he doesn’t.

But, surely, in order to fully justify his place in the starting line-up, he's got to be offering a damn sight more than to show to everyone he 'can take a player on and go passed them.' And that's not me being unduly critical of CJ; he can only play to his true potential if he is employed as an out-and-out winger or attacking midfielder, and none of this RWB/LWB nonsense. Surely, surely, surely Critch has to recognise this fact, and, similarly, act accordingly, and change the absolutely ludicrous set-up we presently have to one which clearly plays to CJ's strengths..

Agree, he can definitely pressure opposition defenders, wingers when he hasn’t got the ball. He doesn’t have to smash them.

He’s certainly not a Julian Dicks type full back so don’t play him there.
