Results finally going our way (bar Stevenage) but it’s one point from six and it’s just not enough.
Never say never as there’s more twists and turns to come (to quote Critch) but a third of the season left and I just can’t see us going on that run!

Not for us. Teams will love playing us. Easily knocked off the ball. Crap defending and toothless up front. Can’t think of another team I’d want to play than Blackpool right now. Next season these misused players will be even more lacking in confidence.
I don’t think @TangerineEggCup is showering the team with praise and make a very good point that our consistency has been shite and needs to get better before we can even consider ourselves as a playoff chasing team.

You’re point above details why we are not consistent.

So you’re both correct and there’s no argument to be had 😁

I was bored shitless watching that. Oxford should have won it. Grateful I decided not to do a 700 mile round trip. Play off chasing? Good luck with that. . changes needed to get anywhere close I'm afraid to say.

Bored? Did you start watching us during the Holloway years?

That was a decent game of League 1 football with both teams going for the win and that either team could've won.

100% .. were bang average with a manager who seems to have lost his confidence and way.
Yes we are bang average and as for managers confidence, do you mean experienced No2?
Because ever since he's been without one of those he doesn't seem to be able to motivate, sort tactics or substitutions out whatsoever.
He may well have a lot of pretty badges and certificates for what he does, it's just a shame one of them isn't for anything motivational.
He's as bland as celery.

I actually find celery quite peppery.

No. Mid 60s for your info.

Bored? Yes. Who wouldn't be when we revert to hoofball and have so little to offer upfront.

However, as part of the firestick brigade, you can forget about my opinion I suppose. Maybe look at others on here that attend and criticse the tactics or just look at the ever decreasing empty seats that tell a story.

First time I’ve been this season, so there will be many on here who will say ‘your opinion counts for nothing’ but that was turgid stuff and no way a team wanting or reaching the playoffs. No wonder gates are down on numbers

Ever decreasing empty seats? It was the best part of 500 up.

Yes, because losing weak teams like Portsmouth and Derby must make it harder...

I never said that did I . Reading and Wigan are in financial limbo . The three teams coming down won't be in that position. Add Stockport and Wrexham if they get promoted, it's going to be far more competitive. This season quality wise has been abysmal. Including Blackpool.

Well if you are part of the firestickbrigade old chap no one should give a shit about what you think.

In fact, didn't Phil say that he doesn't comment on matches that he didn't go?

Maybe avftt should split into three sections - those that went, those that didn't go/didn't watch and the final section, the w@nker section, those that didn't go/watched on a firestick/talk shit.

It will if you're replacing them with a couple down there like Stoke, QPR, Massive, Birmingham, Huddersfield and Millwall.
Only Rotherham out of that 7 are on a par with Posh, Blackpool etc
The others are either the same or arguably better than your predicted auto spots Derby and Pompy.
So, yeh a lot harder.

Millwall don't get any more support than we do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that 🙂. This season was our best chance and we messed up in spectacular fashion.

I absolutely guarantee they will next season certainly season ticket wise, if we continue to drift and give the fans nothing to get behind.
So if we get to the playoffs but don't get promoted and get to Wembley in the EFL Trophy its been a disastrous season by your reckoning?

Jesus Wiz take your tangerine tinted glasses off and read the room. I've lost count of "long standing" season ticket holders who have told me they are losing interest and will pick their games next season. We have lost our identity as a club, front foot my arse, give us something to get behind. Easy wins like having a home grown talent Apter, on the bench to at least give us a lift have been ignored. All this for his development shit gets me down, as I know for a fact the massive hopes the academy team had for him to be a first team squad member.
We are drifting as a club and lost sight of who we are, that's owner and manager. What makes you think we will make the play offs ? Hope ? Blind faith or performances ?
Bristol Vans Paint Johnstones whatever trophy does not make up in any shape or form for not contending and at times downright boring.
Joseph the most expensive so we are told " striker " in the division or is he a left winger. I could go on, but if you think we should be in a games time 10 points behind sixth place keep smiling .

Like everyone can take such an objective view!? FFS, get real ...

I tick all those boxes do I win a prize?
If so can I please have a life size cutout of Brad Potts to punch every morning before I go to work

Millwall don't get any more support than we do.
Millwall had a crowd of 14744 at home in their last league game against Preston and I can’t imagine Preston took too many. Think the last time we had a home crowd that beat that was the homecoming against Southend

Oxford had one clear chance to win it, free header in close probably the best chance of the match. And not that much else.

Their keeper made a belter reminiscent of Steve Banks v the Neighbours and had presence of mind to recover and fall on it.

Prior to that we scored a scrappy ish one, albeit smartly finished, and their first just highlights the inconsistency of the application of the rules. The scorer wasn't off but there was someone between him and grimshaw off by 2-3 yards. A different set of officials would have flagged it.

In summary it was a decent game between two of the better teams in the division, short on clear chances. And while I feel we were ahead on points for possession and intent, overall a draw was probably fair.

Oh and 2 weeks earlier they had a crowd of 16681 at home to Middlesbrough…….. nearly 60% up on our crowd yesterday Wiz 😉

We are playing vanilla football under Critchley and the Boswell brothers as Raggy calls them
Let's be honest it's generally boring and sometimes excruciating to watch
Yet to see any upside of him coming back - doesn't even play our own players preferring loanees who aren't any better

The assumption being, of course, we will achieve both the objectives you've outlined in your question to Wiz.

Being a tad presumptuous, don't you think?
It's better than the wailing that's going on here which presumes the season is already over

I would call it a disasterous season, after one which alienated the club and players with those two "brands" of football. We've got another brand of football which is extremely hard work to watch.

We are 6pts behind 6th place plenty of games left. Joseph is going to be a big player for us
