Do you know what you are on about ?
Belokon wasnt interested in owning the football club.
He walked off into the sunset with his money and since then has had his main business raided and closed down.
That's not right
The fact was he was told he failed the ODT (after the O's gleefully reported his conviction and the Paris judgment) and so was prevented from having an active role at BFC without securing dispensation from the EFL which was somewhat ironic in view of the lack of action over Owen
Coupled with that he then went through a very expensive divorce and was advised by CC that he faced a battle to get the EFL to lift his bar - I know he spent a fair old bit with them trying to get dispensation
In all my dealings with him he was prepared to stay and even willing to drop his case if Owen sold
Of course VB never expected to get what he did - he rolled the dice and got double six. His own lawyers didn't even advance a claim at that level in their final arguments.
Even then he was willing to stay (and had negotiations with third parties on that basis). It was only when the US started flexing their muscles re Latvian banks he rightly had to focus on that - that was perhaps late 2018 so over 12 months after the judgment.
Sometimes there's just too many things in the way
As it happens it was probably for the best in view of what followed
And of course that huge award is ultimately why we were able to ' get the Oystons out '
Not many know this but VB took some persuading to put the CAR in as he was worried what we'd all think if the club got a points deduction and were relegated as a result ( and that was a real concern ). I had to plead with him to do it.
Does that sound like someone who just wanted his money ?
