Club tweet.....

Ah completely disagree mate, there obviously been something wrong if many many people are pointing out the same things. But that’s what makes the world go round different opinions, the world would be boring if we’re all the same.

See I didn’t think Thorniley was that bad, and I saw him play in really the only two performances he’s made for us.
A lot of people thought Thorniley was shocking from the games he played for us. And the current feeling about Ekpiteta is mixed, mostly that he is looking nervous, makes an occasional mistake, but is improving and showing potential. And he's only had 4 games, not many more than the 2 in which you thought Thorniley was ok... 😉

but there’s only a handful of people that actually saw Thorniley play last season.

Against Stoke in the league cup he played very well in the second half. But it’s a mute or moot? Have I been saying this wrong my whole life?😂point now as he’s on his way out.

I’m actually agreeing with all your points there about Marv, but the fact is he’s made 3 to 4 awful gaffs in all the games bar Swindon. You can’t deny that, anyway I’m not having a pop at him per say. I’m point out the same as yourself he’s improving and I looking at it he was unlucky to make the step up to a new league with at least 2 other players new to the Club and the league. Didn’t help him at all.

So maybe the way forward in NC’s head is, Start the Viking and Ballard I f they’re more suited to this level of football and bleed Marv into the side, get his ability and confidence up and he could be a big player for us.

It may well be that Marv & Notts, if playing alongside Gretarsson, are both more settled and composed going forward due to having someone on his natural left side with a bit of experience.
Although after Sunday it is a bit of a moot point, it is like Gomez and Matip playing together, which wouldn't fill anyone with much confidence; however put either alongside VVD and they instantly up their game.

Yes I agree with that, however I think Notts is done with us now. Can’t see him coming back into the fold after some really shaky performances and being hooked just after half time at Gillingham and then not featuring again.

Marv definitely needs a better player next to him to bring him on. Fingers crossed we’ve founded one in Ballard or the Viking.

Moot. Unless you are mute, in which case it doesn't matter cos you'll never say it.

Awful gaffs is an overstatement IMO. Football fan terrace speak. His worst gaff on saturday, the corner, was minor, in all other realms of reality. IMHO.

Well every day is a school day I’ll unmute myself 😂.

Voy come on, he’s had some right clangers.
A pro footballer shouldn’t be doing that on Saturday to give the corner away, it was amateurish. It really wasn’t the only one, he skewers a clearance first half straight to their player on the edge of the areas allowing him through on goal. Husband did very well to bail him out.

There’s at least three real bad ones per game at the minute.
