I agree to a thread being posted about the Cods slagging off a Pool legend but then as usual it descends into the usual load of slanging bollocks!
 
They're an irrelevance to us. It's amazing how much money has been pumped into them but Lg1 is their glass ceiling. They can see themselves as rivals if they want too but there's little history to back it up. Southport, Lancaster and Morecambe are their more natural rivals.

It was funny the time just before our game, they and some guy on top of the mount shouting to 'fans' about attending the game, but there was no-one there.

As for backing PNE, I can find loads of posts where Allez has started a thread about the Knobbers and like clockwork you turn up and have a pop at him for doing it….

I think most long term posters on this site would agree that you have a hard on for Allez and take every opportunity to have a go….loads of evidence
 
Lets face it, from the recent convictions it can be deduced that the Cods success has been financed by a dodgy business financially exploiting its customers.

I went to watch Fleetwood about 16 years ago, they were in the national league North division 2 or 3, I can't really remember. What I can remember is how poor the game was. The group of players they currently have is 100x better than that group was. Some people have very short memories. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if the one making that comment was a Blackpool fan 16 years ago.

There was also a time when Blackpool Reserves played home games there.

And even up to the mid to late 2000s there was the annual preseason game there. Simply to help them out bringing money in as they had maybe 200 fans and playing Blackpool preseason would guarantee decent income. Wes Hoolahan played as a trialist before he signed too., I think in 2006.

And Fleetwoods main rivals used to be the likes of Squires Gate and Blackpool Mechanics before their name change to AFC Blackpool in 2008.

They have come a hell of a long way in a relatively short time. Some of their fans maybe need to remember.
 
This thread just goes to show the small time mentality a lot of our supporters still have. Still languishing in the shadow of the Oyston legacy lashing out at a smaller local club.

I bet Liverpool forums don't have as many Everton threads as we do Fleetwood.
 
I used to like Fleetwood until the hostility towards us.
Went to watch PNE v Cods and all through the game it was anti Pool songs. There were many Pool fans present and they all agreed they had shot themselves in the foot.
Then the “Oyston In” banner. I know it was kids but no one booed them and actually cheered.
I was on the tram which was stoned by Cods fans recently.
Whilst we were mid table League 2 they were challenging for promotion to the Championship.
I know at least 3 people who defected to the Cods at this time.

Sorry but they have punched above their weight for some time.
Did they support us during boycott protests!
 
Living near Highbury for 10 years and knowing Jim Betmead and Phil Brown I saw many of their matches when they reformed as Freeport including first .game away at Bacup Borough. If I couldnt attend pool away I would watch cods until Pilley took over and pumped money in. I never went again unless with Pool.
When they first reformed few people were interested and I remember games with crowds of 40 ish only much later on did they jump on the bandwagon.

I now hate them and look forward to their demise.
 
Just how bad must their brother/sister/them clubs be in Dubs, South Af and Island. Must be a front for something, why havent proceeds of crime shut these down inc Fleetwood Town FC. Was he innocent . ?
