Come on Scarborough

Today's the day little Scarborough have the chance to put the record straight against the cheats from FGR and win their rightful place at Bloomfield Road next week, It's also the day for the FA to hold their heads in shame, admit they have got the whole thing wrong and caused chaos in the FA Cup 2nd Round proper in what should have been a simple case of FGR being kicked out of the FA Cup.

My understanding is their offence was dealt with the way it has always been done. They fielded a player who was elegible but they hadn't got parent club agreement. Barnsley's case was fielding an ineligible player. Each case was dealt with according to prior cases - replay for eligible without permission and disqualified for ineligible.

Still a complete pain though.

From what i read they had permission from the parent club they just hadn't informed the FA that they had permission.
That to me is words of advice and maybe a small fine and then the game against us could have gone ahead as it should have done. A 5 minute phone call to investigate it.
The big question is why did it take the FA so long to realise what had happened.

The offence occurred on Nov 4th. The FA announced their inquiry on Dec 1st. The way it was dealt with was unprecedented.

I’ll be checking on my fire stick later to see if there’s a livestream available.
If FGR field a full strength team they should win, but they’re in a relegation battle with a congested fixture list so in reality might just field a weakened side as it’s highly unlikely either side will beat us at home.
IMO our game against FGR should have gone ahead. No one benefits from this fcuk up by the FA.

are they replaying the original tie or the replay?

ie is the game at Scarborough or Forest Green?

It's three weeks from the date of the first round through to the day before we were due to play. Scandalous that due diligence on the FA'S part didn't happen.

Oh well, it's now up to us to make their journey pointless. Come on you Pool. put an end to this farce.
