Love him or hate him, there's no denying it would be a blast for the next 4 months and he would at least get Bloomers rocking. It's like a wake at the moment. I'd defo take him over MA.
This can’t be a serious question?Yes we have changed, for the worse!
What have we done since Ollie & Thommo?
ON THE PITCH, NOT OFF IT!This can’t be a serious question?
What have we done? Apart from getting rid of the biggest pair of cunts to own a football club and rebuild the Club to get back in the Championship? Hardly changed for the worse.
What have Ollie and Thommo done since us?
Thommo went to Knob End? Is that ok btw cos it’s not for MA? And Holloway got Palace promoted in 2013 and then left after a terrible start in the Prem and has been potted from every job he’s been in since, the last one Grimsby in League 2 which he played a key part in a total soap opera.
FFS. I give up.ON THE PITCH, NOT OFF IT!
It's an AVFTT disease borne out of a small club mentality. Posters can only ever think of ex-players or ex-managers.
Thanks for that insight Mac, for the record I didn’t want Larry or MA back, but our most successful post war manager I would welcome back.Very disrespectful threads like this, we still have a manager
I've got an idea
How about backing the one we have?
What happened to the Critchley/ Bowler money, surely a good manager worth more than one expensive signing.Cloud cookoo land if you think Dyche or Wilder would come here, let alone if we could afford them.
The difference being is that Critchley got everything he wanted, Appleton has been hung out to dryThanks for that insight Mac, for the record I didn’t want Larry or MA back, but our most successful post war manager I would welcome back.
Phil you slated Critch in much the same way and he got us promoted. No win in ten games is the problem, the longer that goes on the bigger the unrest will grow, that’s football
Remind me of all the big signings Critch made? He made the best out of his budget. Maybe just maybe you should of backed him.The difference being is that Critchley got everything he wanted, Appleton has been hung out to dry
It's chalk and cheese
I did back him when I was at the matchesRemind me of all the big signings Critch made? He made the best out of his budget. Maybe just maybe you should of backed him.
I have backed MA at the matches as have a lot of people. We are venting our frustration on here,I did back him when I was at the matches
Not once did I chant against him at a game or sing songs about him not knowing what he was doing
I didn't want him as a manager as I didn't think he was the long term project that the club sold to us
And to be frank I was proven right
I’d take Agent Simmo back, he would of been a good fit after Critch.Paul Simpson surely. Pay the money and get him in.
...and quickly reverted to dogshitAuld Jimmy Floyd is unemployed, I remember being impressed with how instantly Burton went from dogshit to hard to beat when he returned to them.
Howe is a bit different. He came back to millions due to a takeover that wasn't there in his first stint.Eddie Howe
Neil Warnock
No doubt others
I sometimes feel that certain managers have a rare affiliation with certain clubs and always bring out the best (in players and supporters alike)
I would welcome Ollie back with open arms and if it came down to a vote the majority of fans would also go for him.
It’s very strange really when we have had players associated with our arch enemy who come back and people talk bollox about not coming back while they are there.
Brett was a prime example and yet people adored him when he came back
No reason Ollie couldn’t get the same treatment
Thing is he is probably finished with management now.
The thing is he came to us when he was on a downward trajectory, he's mad as a box of frogs probably has a mental health illness but he was ** amazing and he did it with some help from VB and despite of the stains. Its years later but I think him coming back would be a massive lift and the players really would get to play some exciting football. If we go down fighting then shit happens. He has to have Thommo at his side though. How the fuck can Sadler employ useless Grayson and unwanted Appleton and ignore the most successful and exciting manager I have ever witnessed is unbelievable. Like I said, Sadler's one of these people who try and play the safe, peas are green, anorak approach to managers, I don't think he likes or wants a big personality, he's rather have someone from the walking dead.It is romantic and I can see the attraction from that perspective.
I couldn’t give a shit about what he has or hasn’t said about the Oystons.
I don’t want him as a manager though … He’s on acff downward trajectory and I doubt he can summon the same level of enthusiasm that he had last time around…
Some of our fans are on crack.Huddersfield has to be Apples last game if we don’t win. Lose that game we will need plenty of wins to stay up, we will need someone who can hit the ground running and knows the club, we will need somebody who can motivate a team to have a right go at the opposition. Step forward Ian Holloway

Herdman is a good shout but I would very much doubt he would leave the Canada job even for a top level Championship club.Holloway was in a moment. We were in a moment. The stars aligned. Those stars have moved way out of alignment in the 15 years that have passed.
John Herdman tho...
You, Sam and boxer boy? Some of our fans are on crack.
True enough. I loved the way they played though. It was the sort of football players like Jerry would absolutely adore.Herdman is a good shout but I would very much doubt he would leave the Canada job even for a top level Championship club.
Canada qualify for 2026 being a host nation so he's on a good number there for the next 3-4 years.
Seems you know them, I don't. Crack on with the crack. You, Sam and boxer boy?
Your in denial Tit DSeems you know them, I don't. Crack on with the crack.
No doubt you are still doing business with them and Oyston.Your in denial Tit D
Mick McCarthy? Another that knows the Championship very well.To be honest there are so many unemployed managers about at the moment which would not cost us, most of which are better than what we currently have. Maybe one or more are being sounded out.
Warnock (although probably Cardiff bound)
Richardson
Wilder
Smith
Warburton
Manning
Allardyce
McCann
Hasselbaink
Pulis
Ferguson (Big Dunc)
Hughton
Lennon
Holloway
I do not do or have ever done any business with an OystonNo doubt you are still doing business with them and Oyston.
John Herdman an interesting call, where’s that curveball come from? Have I missed somethingHolloway was in a moment. We were in a moment. The stars aligned. Those stars have moved way out of alignment in the 15 years that have passed.

I just liked the way Canada played and thought 'hmmm - that would suit a lot of our players' and then discovered the guy was English.John Herdman an interesting call, where’s that curveball come from? Have I missed something
A good shoutI just liked the way Canada played and thought 'hmmm - that would suit a lot of our players' and then discovered the guy was English.
It's not a rumour, it's just my random opinion.
Yep a complete **.No!!!!!!
He was a “Two-Faced pro-Oyston Cnut”
Remember his Gazette Statement :
“What’s all the fuss about” when OO paid himself a £11 million bonus and wouldn’t loan a goalkeeper that would have kept us in the Premiership for another year at a cost of £440K
NEVER FORGIVE NEVER FORGET!!!
Appleton has a record which you would charitably call mixed but we still appointed him. Don’t think we can discount anyone on that basis.A name I haven't heard mentioned is Garry Monk. Got loads of experience, a good age (43) and wants to get back into management. He has a mixed record I know but so do most of the other managers who have been touted.
Fair shout, always come across well to meA name I haven't heard mentioned is Garry Monk. Got loads of experience, a good age (43) and wants to get back into management. He has a mixed record I know but so do most of the other managers who have been touted.
