Happy times working a summer in a van on the beach for them '72/73

I worked there for maybe three summers around 82-84.
I worked on the vans selling. I also was a general dogs body on rainy days. Cleaned the factory. Helped make the ice cream.
Had an amazing time working there. Loved every minute.
The Naventi sisters had a Julio Iglesias album playing on a continuous loop all day every day. 🤣

UCP basement cafe in Bank Hey St. Very reasonably priced basic meals. Steak n kidney pudding and chips was my favourite. They had several branches in the North West.

Cousin learned his trade as an upholsterer at Duple.
He managed to complete his apprenticeship just before it closed.
Continued his career at Roll-Royce-Bently, so must have got a good start at Duple.

My mum used to do a couple of evening shifts there in the early 70’s. I remember going with my dad to drop her off when I was a toddler. They made kitchenwear, a lot of it is now vintage stuff and collectable. She got a lovely egg slicer as a bonus one year. I got a better tune out of that than TC ever could !
Thanks, so many have disappeared since I was a kid.

Some of these may have been mentioned already

The little Offy round the corner from where I used to live. It was a massive company, at one time employing er, as many as 2 people, alas it is no more.😔
