We lack a leader when Norburn isn't around.

There is certainly an element of our squad turning up to games thinking 'it's already won'.

I'm not so sure about that. I think Dougall has really stepped up on Norburn's absence, on your first point. Husband, Dale, Rhodes, Carey; all players who are often bang up for it. I don't think lacking a leader is the problem.

I also don't think overconfidence is an issue, either; it was more the formation and starting line-up that stifled us. It's overly cautious and even then it was pretty much end-to-end in the first 25 mins or so yesterday, they just had the better of the chances.

I didn't see anybody dishing out b**lockings at 2 0 down yesterday , bar the supporters.

There were half half hearted tackles and tracking back efforts from Dale/Carey and OB in that first half .

The fact they scored 2 from outside the box suggests there was little protection in front of the defence. Also that the defence was sat very deep. Egg plant at times was right in front of Grimshaw when he should have been closing down.

The main problem at the moment is the starting lineup is too cautious and then we go a goal or two behind and end up chasing the game. Surely we need to start with our most attacking team and try to get ahead of the opposition. Much more energy needed from the off.

Someone needs to tell critch that we have a much better chance winning a game when we go 1-0 up rather than 1-0 down.

I expect that some fringe players will be given a run at Bromley but for our next game if Norburn is still not fit I think we should go with

Grimshaw

Pennington Ekpiteta Husband

CJ Dembele Dougall Connolly Dale

Rhodes Lavery

Could be as simple as creating an over complicated approach to a simple game.

'Keep it tight for the first hour and try to score on the break' is a recipe for disaster with players who don't have the all-round skills and mindset to match the (apparent) technical complexity of the tactics.

Critch teams need two strong holding midfielders. We’ve had Stewart, Dougall and Wintle in combination before (even Connolly) which always coincided with our best results.

Norburn / Dougall / Dembele or Carey

It’s time to take a positive approach to games and stop this overthinking tactics.

For me it would be the following if everyone was fit:

Grimshaw

Lyons. Pennington. Ekpiteta. Husband

Dougall. Norburn.

Dembele

Hamilton. Rhodes. Lavery
