Congrats to Andy Higgins and Thanks Christine

Just had an email from BST confirming that Christine has stood down as Chair and that Andy has been appointed in her place.

Firstly I just like to say what a great job I think Christine has done during an extraordinary period in our football club’s history.

Led from the front and negotiated some very tricky situations extremely well. As someone who went before her I know what a challenging position it is - and also how potentially dangerous it could be !

We owe Christine a huge debt of tangerine gratitude.

Secondly well done Andy. I’m sure you are going to be a great Chair as BST move into a new era.

Thanks to Tony as well who stands down as Deputy Chair - hope you keep up the good work with the volunteering team 👍

Christine did a marvellous job in the darkest of times for the supporters, always providing a voice of reason and maintaining the moral high ground.

Andy has also been a great and eloquent advocate and I'm sure will continue to take the Trust forward.

Thanks to both of them.

Christine was absolutely fantastic, passionate, intelligent and came across incredibly well when under the spotlight.

In Higgy we are very lucky to have someone who will no doubt carry on the great work of his predecessors 👍🧡

Tim, Christine and everyone involved in BST, thank you for all you have done 🧡

I second all that has been said so far on this thread. We were lucky indeed to have such a wonderwoman to lead us through those dark times. It was always a pleasure to meet her and hear her speak in such eloquent terms and I'm positive she put the wind up the O's who could neither match her or come anywhere near to her enthusiasm for the club and it's supporters. Thankyou Christine and good luck Andy, some big shoes to fill but I know you will be up to the job.

All credit to her. Proves you don’t have to shout to get your point across and be heard. Always articulate, passionate and well informed. So much effort - and not just what we see, but behind the scenes as well. Navigated a safe passage through dangerous waters and we are so grateful. 👍

Thanks for all the hard work Christine against the tyrants (they must have hated you) to be so calm but getting your points over in a controlled manner. Andy is no stranger & I'm sure he will take things forward (in peacetime for Bfc) but the bigger issues re governance etc still warrant our membership. 👍 👍 👍

As others have said, Christine was a superb flag bearer for BST and the cause in the dark times and I have huge respect for all she put in on our behalf. And I don't know Andy personally but he comes across as passionate supporter who cares a lot about this club and this town so I wish him every success and he has my support for whatever that is worth.

Well done Christine and thank you for all you have done. Well done Andy,we couldn’t hope for a more passionate, articulate and driven successor. Exciting times.

Good luck Higgo, you couldn't have picked a more passionate Pool fan to take over. Also Thanks to Christine and Tony for the work they have done.

Thank you for the way you have represented the passion of Pool supporters Christine and for all the hours of commitment and hard work you have put in to the job. I think that you were a game changer.

Good luck Andy.

My thanks to you Christine for all your tireless efforts, and good luck Andy - but please don't close BST meetings with "God save the Queen", if you know what I mean...

Yes, thank you to both.UTP!

Christine has been brilliant with media and all the countless other things BST do.

Love the way they just got on with it, no fuss, just brilliant management of a really tricky problem. We are very lucky to have people like her and Tony.

Good luck to Andy Higgins, can you tell us a bit more about yourself and your team?

Many thanks to Christine both for being Chair of BST and also a very effective and clear public / media voice for the fans. Is she staying on the national fans body?
And congratulations and good luck to Andy in his new role

Thanks Christine and Tony, good luck Andy,
Christine set a high bar for Andy to follow, but I am sure he is more than capable of doing a great job

Well done Christine. You were the voice of reason facing up to the unacceptable face of football. Congratulations to Andy, I'm sure you'll carry on the good work.

Thank you Christine and Tony the epitome of passionate football fans, you have certainly gone the extra mile and more.
Enjoy your retirement 😂
Congratulations Andy I am sure you will carry on the good work.

I wouldn't call it retirement exactly. They are both still on the BST Committee and National Council of FSA. 😀

It's nice to see how much both are appreciated. Anyone who knows the Committee will know how hard Tony works in the normal run of things. But since the volunteers concept was created he has made that work by sheer force of will, as much as anything else.

As for Christine - she is extraordinarily talented, works very hard and has more personal integrity than just about anyone I've ever worked with.

Thanks for everything Christine!

Am I correct in my memory that she was approached about a role in BST after some committee members heard her speaking articulately on the radio about the situation with the Oystons at the time?

The biggest compliment I can pay to all those on the "top table" is that I don't think many of us would have been
supporting our club now without your achievements. Thank you is all I can offer.
