Conservative Party on verge of Bankruptcy

One of the consequences of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, and the subsequent sanctions imposed against his billionaire friends is the effect on the Conservative Party's finances.

Large income streams from the Oligarchs have quickly dried up. These "contributions" were always channelled through a myriad of third parties, but there's now an enormous hole in the Tory Party's finances.

Part of this hole was filled following Johnson's visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but it's understood that the Conservative Party's reserves have now been wiped out.

At the recent NATO meeting, Johnson was seen going around other members with a begging bowl. Unfortunately they all ignored him.

The situation is getting desparate. It would be a disaster if this once great political party was allowed to die due to lack of finances.

I'd imagine some of those 'independent' think tanks based out of Tufton Street, whose employees pop up continually on the telly/radio/etc, will also have a funding problem.

They've had to pay back £2 million which turns out to be from Putins former finance minister.

It was his wife who gave the money, so obviously it was really tricky to trace the money back.

Perhaps we should all make a big contribution? I mean after all we are helping a fellow European country out aren’t we in a time of war? 👍
