Consistently inconsistent

Very poor showing today, as bad as the Northampton game. 2nd half was very disappointing, the lack of urgency was alarming. Good teams don’t get beaten by the likes of these. Another season in league one beckons by the look of it
Do the players really care ?
Where is their ambition ?

There needs to be a realisation amongst all Blackpool fans that we're not as good or shite as is being banded about on here.
We are in fact, a "flash in the pan" side.
Capable of battering the top side in the division at their own ground, yet incapable of replicating that type of performance against lesser sides the likes of Fleetwood or Cambridge.
We will always hold a threat during a match depending on which side turns up, so that makes us dangerous to a degree.
Unfortunately, as said earlier, we have no consistency and i would be astonished if we've actually won three or more on the bounce this season in the league. That isn't good enough.
8th to 12th is probably our standing in the league on our form, an average league 1 side.

We need to start playing our strongest team every week and a winning formation that suits our team, and it's as simple as that.
The defence yesterday was a shambles and the midfield was poor so how we are expected to win I don't know.
The rubbish that managers come out with after matches is an insult to all fans.
Score more goals you win matches simple as.

“Season over”

4 points off the play offs and 24 games left to play. What a load of nonsense.

Over reaction as usual.
That could quite easily be 10 points off the playoffs if games in hand are won by Derby, bigger points difference by teams higher if they also win.
Yep, quite right, 24 games to play, what exactly has given you so much encouragement that Blackpool's season will change in the 2nd half of the season ?
Personally, I think it's a reasonable reaction to what has been, at best, a totally mediocre campaign.
Of course, feel free to cling onto your hope that they may get in the play offs, they may well do.
On current form I find it hard to see though.

Yep qell be very lucky not be be at least 7 behind or more.

Then if this form carries on it could be further.

We desperately need to put a run together now and stick with the pack or get in, otherwise it's leaving too much to do. We just don't capable of putting that run together nevermind a bigger run of wins and relying on others losing, not only to catch up but overtake and stay there.

It could be an amazing effort to catch up 9 point or whatever, but then we hit a mini bad run and suddenly you're a couple of wins behind again.

It can happen of course however we should be far higher up, given the squad and the quality of the sides were facing.

The season is clearly not over. But if we're serious about a promotion challenge then it's also obvious performances like yesterday have to be eradicated to the odd game in 10/12 rather than 1 in 3.

At the moment, no one is necessarily ‘right or wrong’ here. The inconsistency is annoying. We are not capitalising when it seems we could. However, we are not getting battered 5-0 in the games that we lose.

I reckon we’ll beat Bristol. The play offs are not out of the question, as it’s still not even new year. We certainly missed Dougall yesterday and I just want to see a bit more fight from us. But I’m not writing us off yet.

I've read lots of these damning comments over the past 24 hours. The answer, however, is quite straightforward. We have a great team but an average squad. Even removing three players from the great team can mean a much reduced performance because all parts of the team need to interact well for it to work. I'd say that - goalies aside - we have 15 players that can work very well together. Beyond that we have fairly good League One players who can, sometimes during a game, be found wanting and as such, pull the team down a level. No names, no pack drill because that's not fair. Even so, in Critchley's system I thing we need two full teams in the squad who can substitute well for each other.

Play a normal formation and an injury or two wouldn't hurt as much.

How does that happen? It will take a fundamental change from NC for it to.

I know we all have varying views on what needs to be done, but I think 100% united on the notion that something needs to be changed.

Yeah, I don't have any answers either. I can't help feeling that things are being massively overcomplicated with the current situation and there's players who can be really effective in this league who's strengths aren't being supported.

Couldn't even look at the table on Saturday night but 4 points off the play offs with 3 games still to come this month.
Might be the massive rocket up the arses the side need but there again might also completely knock their confidence as a side and this could be it!
