Corbeanu v Madine

Strange to compare the two together, a 20 year old winger finding his feet and learning the game vs a 32 year old centre forward who has poor figures for goals and assists.

Subbed far too early - the only player to try anything in the 1st half with the exception of Bowler's tippy tappy effort.

Could he not play centrally then?Must admit he didn’t look natural in front of goal against Reading when Bowler played him in.Just wondering whether he had played that role for Wolves before?

Just to clarify the question was only asked because Corbeanu was brought in for Madine .. I wasn't trying to attempt a like for like as clearly they are different players.

He wasn't brought in for Madine at all. Yates went central and Bowler and Corbeanu wide.

On the brief showing that I've seen him, he doesn't look like one to get stuck in. As for the long socks over the knees...jeez.

He needs to improve.

Was completely lacking in the press and I think it's why he got subbed off at half time. I remember Yates screaming at him at one point as he was pressing the centre halves but were able to play a simple ball to their right back because Corbeanu was almost level with our left back!

The Goal Machine enters the arena to Here Comes the Hotstepper wearing an immodest crown and an ermine fringed, red velvet cape. His posse of six female bodybuilders (natural) in competition bikinis move him adoringly to the ring, one is tasked with spraying a light coat of baby oil on Wor Gaz's hairless but tanned chest. He's in great nick. His rope jump is a little risqué and no less risk-ee - those tangerine silk boxers are sitting incredibly high, just how he likes them. Clearly, Corbeanu is overawed by the Goal Machine's physicality. His own not unimpressive entrance which began with him in full RCMP uniform sat astride a 17-hand Hanoverian seems staged and tame in comparison. Gaz lives it, Corbeanu fakes it.

Referee calls them to order. Madine looking nonchalant but purposeful. Corbeanu nervously maintaining eye contact. On the referee's instruction they touch gloves, but no, Wor Gaz leaves Corbenau hanging - classic Gaz. The mountie is on his bike from the first bell but the Machine will eventually catch him in round 2. Spark out. Big Gaz will leap to the ropes drinking in the adulation, spitting out challenges to the next pretender. It's going to be a long night of celebration, they might need more bodybuilders....
