Council Sponsorship of BFC

Just a thought but how is this being funded? If it is indeed being funded?

Is it just free advertising for the town in return for more "bums on seats" or is it via Council Tax payments?

Just curious to know. Anyone have any knowledge of this?

I dont know but suspect a lot of it is to do with the re generation of the area round the club plus the training ground situation a sort of you scratch our back and we will scratch yours sort of deal.

Allowing this lot to provide for a community asset is like asking King Herod to sort out the babysitting, because really they've held back on supporting local businesses and are only indirectly throwing a few quid in an effort to gain cheap publicity.

What should happen btw in terms of sponsoring the club is that some of the larger entities should be stumping up. EH Wright have been handed massive construction contracts in this town, and both Premier Inn and Travelodge have been given a golden ticket to do as they please.

Travelodge. I wonder how much they've made since they started dealing with Blackpool FC and why they cant start sticking some of that back?

@BlackpoolSupportersTrust should be dealing with this in a more vocal way imo, where a critical eye should be cast on the businesses who have made lots of profit from the local community.

The Council's involvement in the Club is welcome but what is happening with the new training facility? Are the Council being supportive or are they a stumbling block? It's all gone quiet.

We now have a club that conducts its business quietly, so I would think we won’t hear anything until they want us to.

Regarding the new training facility SS said in his recent two years on message 'This is by far and away my top investment priority and hopefully we will have good news to impart on this matter in the coming months.'
