He must has zero ambition if he would rather make Stevie G's brews than manage a Championship club.
There's many an assistant manager in the Prem who would give up there role to be there own man, it just shows what a weak weak man he really is.
So much for the bond with the fans and the young players he's brought in, he's shit on us both.
Those young players he's brought in and promised to take to the next level must be pretty pissed off with him as well and it may he a problem motivating them next season.

I could understand leaving to be an assistant to a manager where he might actually learn something.
This decision is baffling and feels like he lacks confidence in his own ability.

I think you’ve hit nail on the head. Seems to be fantastic coach and maybe doesn’t enjoy management. Also maybe over achieved in year one and best for himself to maybe leave on that high.
