Critchley midfield dilema

The midfield drives the game, protects the defence and sets up the forwards.
We only had defensive midfielders to choose from. Carey, Stewart and Ward all injured. Our attacking right backs who we missed so much at the start of the season Gabriel and Sterling both injured.
The whole team was unbalanced by replacements that were not of the same type or standard or not up to speed after returning from injury.
What else could he do. ?

I’d have thought that much was obvious….

He should have simply consulted with the experts on AVFTT…

A lot of posters are blaming him. What could he have done?

I think the answer is the bench yesterday:

• Maxwell;
• Thorniley;
• James;
• Virtue;
• Dale;
• Lavery;
• Yates.

No obvious options on there, Connolly needed at RB, that probably was about the best available side.
