Critchley nowhere near Peterborough’s standard of football

How embarrassing does it get ,the gulf in our standard of football in comparison to Peterborough on national television . They passed us off the park , we couldn’t string half a dozen passes at best , couldn’t keep up with their pace and were out muscled in every area of the pitch embarrassingly the result should been far worse .At best we are league one standard Critchley.

You know it's going to be a bad night, when it takes you 45 minutes to drive your first 4 miles, you arrive in Blackpool, find a parking space and some fool backs into you. Fortunately no damage.

Progress hits the nail on the head. we were out thought, out played and were given a lesson in football by a decent footballing side. Had it not been for the heroics of the man, on a couple of occasions, who has been the unluckiest player in the division, a man who has taken some awful, uncalled for, stick on this board recently. Yes I mean Ecpiteta, who saved two goal bound shots, it would have been far worse.

Ah well, It's a damned expensive day out at Wembley, so we shouldn't be too disheartened 🙄

Wembley would have papered over cracks and given him another 12 months. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end.

In his head does he think we play like Peterborough?
They were so much better than us in every respect. Our squad is nowhere near as good as people think. Time for a clear out, the following should all go Critchley and the Yes Men, Connolly, Husband, Virtue, Carey, Beesley, Kouassi, Norburn.
We need a rebuild in the summer with a realistic league 1 style of play and a head coach that can deliver it.

A fair assessment of the match. And yet we controlled the second half at London Road. It's bizarre.

We need a coach with fresh ideas because this man has no idea ! Get rid now so an incoming manager knows what he has got and what he needs to get rid of for next season .Please Simon don’t bring in another manager we’ve already had before to fail yet again !

Spot on from the OP ,shit is the word season over ,even if we scab the play offs there is no way we will get to Wembley with this team no were near good enough for the championship ,the players have to take their share of the blame for last night gutless, no passion, clueless.

Everyone's raving about Peterborough, but my honest opinion is that we made them look good, the playing out from the back was just asking for an energetic press, we intercepted their messing around in their defensive third a few times but didn't capitalise, and we didn't press as a team, it was crying out for a Joseph, Lavs combination of energy and bite.

For all his qualifications his mantra seems to be, just ** it forward we might get a lucky bounce. Pains me to say it but son of Fergie made a complete monkey out of Critchley tonight.
as many have done this season, with teams who are not exactly footballing geniuses.

we already know that route one football, a physical team, a high press against us, are all styles that Critchley doesn't know how to deal with, now it seems "footballing" sides are giving us 101 lessons as well. Is there any style of play that Critchley and his back room team CAN prepare for.

We did do the energetic press for the first 20 but where outnumbered doing it.
No way Joseph and Beesley could keep that tempo up all game it needed an extra man in there.

It was nothing short of embarrassing for that to be shown before the world on tv. We made an out of form Posh team that is 16 points behind the leaders look like Man City.

I think that's the thing that annoyed me the most (well, that and having to watch Connolly). We totally played into their hands and it felt completely transparent us doing so. Then we came out, after a shocking first half, unchanged, and did 15 more minutes of the same for good measure. And Critch is supposed to be this tactically astute coach...

The time honoured tactic of backpasses and punt. It is the way forward I tell ya

The manager and the players are not good enough, I very much doubt any of our current squad would get in Peterborough's. Big investment and a change of manager needed if we are serious of becoming a Championship football team, otherwise more of the same that we have witnessed this season.

The manager and coaching staff must take full responsibility for our current form
Peterborough have an average squad but a management that have a consistent style of play
The players know how the team plays as a whole and their individual roles in that system
We on the other hand seem lost actually walking through games wondering what to do next
Who to pass to, when and where to make runs, how to get in the opposition's half
If we train during the week to practice what we do on match day, there is little evidence of it

Last night’s performance reminds me of taking my American brother-in-law to a game at Bloomfield about 15 years ago.
We were awful and got beat three nil from memory.
He turned to me and said: “So these guys have regular jobs during the week and just play for fun at the weekends?”
“Er, nope they are full time professional footballers.”
“Really?!”…
