CRITCHLEY OUT!

You’ve basically come out with false information to try and justify your opinion. Even at his supposed ‘shittest’ his win rate (in the Championship) was still 33.3% and would have seen a mid-table finish.

You’ve conveniently ignored that we didn’t strengthen properly in January and that our season effectively fizzled out.

No… You come across as a reactive child 👎

We can’t keep firing managers Willy Nilly, they need a chance to properly implement ideas & changes ..

Not even God himself could implement the ideas and tactics Critchley is trying to employ.

Never wanted him back, his football is crablike, predictable, and boring. He has no plan B, sticks to his formula with players playing out of position and on their weaker foot. Any other manager would be questioned by the supporters so why can we not call out Critchley? After 1 game you say its sus, after 5 you call it out for the buffoonery it is. Get him a strong number two who is willing to tell him he is wrong or get rid early to save the mistakes of last year.

I think we're on the same road as last year, where we'll wait far too long to change the manager.
Critchley gets away with being shite, because of his bromance with Sadler and them being mates.

Make him number 2, (if he must stay) and get a proper manager in to get us moving in the right direction.

I'm in the camp of we have to give the manager more time, but it's incredibly hard to see the current squad ever making the current tactics work. So the real question is how long will Critchley persist with this approach before he can bring himself to draw a line under it? 5 more games? 10? I don't think beyond 5 is worth continuing the exercise. And I really can't see us getting this unorthodox 3-5-2 working to the extent required within 5 games. I hope I'm wrong. I also hope there is at least some training time being given to a plan B set of tactics and approach as contingency.

In all that hope, the biggest is that someone backroom is able to give Critchley honest feedback. I suspect Calderwood was a straight talker and when he joined he was able to help Critchley see where things didn't work. The subsequent upturn in results wasn't a coincidence in my view. Of course there is always one voice for the media and fans and another for the training ground. That's a given in football. I'm just not filled with confidence, from listening to and seeing him, that Critchley has introspection and the ability to self-critique in spades.

He just needs to stop overthinking it, we will do okay this season but it was a disappointing 60 minutes yet again because of the team selection and tactics, there is no faulting the heart and desire of the players and Critch can be a good manager, he just got it wrong today but it was a good game still, just the wrong result.

I would just like to know what Critchley's pre match team talk consists of.
Every game we start so slowly and lack any real appetite to go and get the 3 points, we lack any intent.
I remember saying on the way out after we had hung on for a 1-0 win at Barnsley, we just did not seem to want to go forward.
Their manager also commented on how supprised they were by our tactics.

Big setback today and a few tough games ahead, and once again it feels self inflicted.
Sometimes he really does do things that make it look like he is actually trying to get sacked.
We are doing OK overall, but it certainly doesn’t feel like a promotion season, but then it didn’t in 2021 either!

The problem for me is that there is no consistency. The tactics and players are always changing. We all turn up each match wondering what his team selection will be, knowing full well he will have tinkered and adapted for whichever opposition we are playing. Most of us say why, especially at home. Let the opposition worry about us and play more direct attacking football at a higher tempo. If he doesn't change his approach he won't last the season simple as that. I'm not calling for him to go now, but stop the tinkering please.

Unfortunately Critchleys' contract is probably too much money for Sadler to sack him.
The only solution is for Critch to offer his resignation.
Which he will not do.

I feel the need to, once again point out that we'll achieve nothing while Critchley is managing Our team!
That guy is not a good football manager!
Maybe he'd make a good scout, but never a manager.
It’s actually unbelievable that this thread was posted in August. August ffs

I have said this before on a previous post and don't comment very often but I cant decide whether peoples knowledge of football on here is very limited (or have any at all) or they put things on the to wind people up to get a reaction

Even more ridiculous that the O/P has then waited for a full 2 months until a home defeat against one of the best sides in the League to re-bump their thread.

Kind of proves the point that these wankers are literally sat their sharpening their knives ready to pounce.

👎👎👎
For Info, I re-bumped the thread rather than start another new one.

Hope that's alright with you? Wanker.

It's both.

You been on the weed Hertford? You are very measured this weekend.

The point is… you’ve had to wait two whole months for a loss against one of the better sides to justify the re-bump.

You must have been sat there literally counting the days waiting in hope of a loss….

Then the minute we lose you can’t want to get stuck in.

Absolutely pathetic 👎

Ridiculous. Of course he will sack him if he needs to. Why would he though ?

Yeah herts, if it works just do it. Nobody on here will judge you. 😄
When I went to Jamaica in 2019 for my 60th we stayed in an airbnb on a ganja farm!! It was freely available but I never touched it, I haven't even had an alcoholic drink for the last 4 months apart from the odd stubby.

Not sure Dobbie is the answer but lets be honest here, had Sadler pulled the trigger 2 - 3 weeks earlier last season we would still be in the Championship as the team played with some actual venom during their final games..

It’s possible Dobbie might have saved us… Also possible that Appleton might have if he’d been left in post.

As things are we don’t need an answer, because there’s nothing particularly wrong ….

Todays performance was about as unacceptable as I’ve ever seen in my lifetime as a Blackpool fan. And the majority of it comes from the manager. He has 5 games to sort it out. 3-5-2 does not work. You don’t have the players. Play players in their ** natural positions. You’ve then at least got a chance. Lincoln didn’t have a sniff of scoring in the first half. I called for Marv to be dropped last week!

Simon and Neil. You need 3/4 players for this system. If you don’t get them. You need to change system.
Really? Fuck me mate you must have started going to Bloomers 5 minutes ago. 'In your lifetime' is hilarious! My first season in 88/89 we never got out of the bottom 4, had Gordon Owen up front and had salmon-pink shirts and orange socks. Bristol City came and Bob Taylor looked like the Zeus against our plebs, then Bristol Rovers arrived and 6k gas fans invaded the pitch when the third went in to pip their rivals to the title. Have some perspective please, we lost, played shit, had a player sent off, and we are 7th.

Why are you replying to my post as if it was from the weekend? My post is the 26th of August 2023.

It was from when I travelled 3 hours to watch us get battered by Lincoln. Spent 100 quid and I'll REITERATE, it was the worst performance I've seen in my lifetime. I couldn't give a shit about games pre the 90s when I was born in the 90s.

Message from my mate who has been a season ticket holder at Posh for many years - seems like all football fans moan about their team 😂

Hi Neil,
Regarding the football, from the report the Posh were pretty lucky to end up winning, but I still think Blackpool will be in the playoffs at the very least.

Still a long way to go, and having watched every home game it doesn’t give me any confidence that Posh can last, they can’t rely on luck all the time.

Best Regards

Richard.
