Neil Critchley's first season in League One wasn't going well at all until Colin Calderwood was appointed as his no.2.
Some fantastic loans enabled Blackpool to have a brilliant central defensive partnership between any two of Marvin Ekpiteta, Richard Keogh, and loanee Dan Ballard. Midfield benefitted greatly with Elliott Embleton and the forward line vastly improved with Ellis Simms.
This season, after playing well and beating Wigan, we've returned to full scale defence, which we are just not good enough at, especially with players out of their natural positions, and in a new 3-5-2 formation.
If things don't quickly improve, I fear we could easily slide straight through to the 4th Division. Halfway through last season, I predicted a relegation followed by a League One relegation battle. When Stephen Dobbie had the caretaker manager's job for the last six matches last season, I felt relieved for our future, but now, I'm fearful for it.
