Critchley telling fans to fcuk off tonight?

Bit surprised if he did to be honest with everything I have been told about him and his relaxed attitude, maybe something was said to cause him to react?

Was sat next to dugout. Didn't hear him, but he did give some eyes to a few shouting things.

Tbh, based on the other thread, if he's given some eyes to some of the numpties who shout 'forward' then good on him.

The same people no doubt who then shout something like... 'pass it ffs' or 'keep the ball' when we get it forward and it's lost.

He definitely did as I saw it with my own eyes in L block.

I think he was just frustrated as there were lots of moans and groans whenever we passed it back. He did an exaggerated clap and turned to the fans when Marv played it back a few mins later too, and lots of head shaking.

He did in the last home game of 2021/22 when we lost to Derby 0-2.
Don't often go in the West but was spur of the moment thing and got 2 tickets off ticket exchange. Anyway all through the match and this one gobby idiot had been going on at Critch,. Come the end of the game and a smiling Critch beckoned said loudmouth over then to everyones surprise gave it to him full on🤬🤬🤬 LOL funny as foooook

Words were exchanged for sure. Whether it was 'fuck off' or not, I couldn't be certain, but he had a bit of a back and forth with what I think was one particular voice. Looked tetchy. Wasn't his usual self at end either. More or less straight down tunnel with a terse thumbs up. He's probably knackered. Long season, lots of games, missing out on a lot of Xmas with his kid and stuff.

He was getting annoyed at times with players when we went backwards and missed runners, or a forward pass.
But it was almost as if he was getting annoyed at the moans when we legit had no options and needed to reset, or switch.

Yes I saw his sarcasm too from J block. His knowledge is so superior and a great ambassador for the club. Top 10 man bravo 👏

I wonder if he noticed how much better we were with two wing-backs that looked like they had a grasp of what it takes to play in that role 🧐

Was annoying me tbh the shouts of forward. I get it can be frustrating but when there are no options it's the right thing to do and when there were options he was on at the team to be positive. The fans that do it tbh just show themselves up a bit really but I think it's a by product of how up and down we have been this season

TBF it's his job, he knows what the season entails

Some were shouting for the ball to go forward when surrounded by their players or an immediate pass wasn't on. I'm ** glad some of these idiots aren't in charge. I know it's frustrating the way we play at times but I think the minority who were shouting last night have an agenda that's got nothing to do with actual play and everything to do with their dislike of Critchley for leaving us.

At Derby at home it looked like he turned around and shouted the same when some fan booed following a back pass.

Good on him I say. Lumping it forward is no longer a good strategy with the speed that teams counter.

Just seems like this is going to be ‘that kind of season’ and the gaffer needs to push through.

That notorious West stand block behind the dugout in all its different guises have seen off many a manager .
Their venom will still be around long after Critch is gone, its what they do.

The North gets all the grief but they're some complete bell ends in the West.
It was that bad with the constant moaning and shouting at Critch I moved seat against Barnsley in the Cup.

Just support the team FFS.
I did the same v Morecambe in the trophy. Sat in front of a bloke who told Critch he should be ashamed of himself. The game had been on 5 minutes. He didn't stop all first half.

Some fans really are pathetic. I moved in D block this season because of the same thing week in week out.

Yeh i dont like to hear it either. If you want to watch 'Forward' football so much, go down the road to common edge on a sunday morning. Sometimes we can be frustrating i get that but if there is nothing on then we keep the ball and go the other way, its exactly what we should be doing.
I hope Critch did tell him to fcuk off

Noticed at the Derby home game that fans in the West were moaning everytime the ball was passed back when Derby were set up to defend in numbers and hit us on the break which is exactly what they ended up doing as it seemed to affect the players. Its games like these where a bit of patience is needed and I'd rather take a point rather than get beat because some fans in the West want it lumping into the box at every opportunity

8th in the league at about halfway
In the 3rd round of the cup
In the last 8 of the EFL trophy

But yeah ‘get it forward’ and give possession away. And the shouts of ‘shoot’ when a bloke is 35 yards out with 3 defenders on top of him are actually getting tiresome now. I hope Critch did give a bit back.

Sums up the relationship between club and fans at the moment. We either get some consistency or this will continue all season. A lot of frustrated fans out there.

People shouting backwards though haven't a clue. You keep the ball whether forwards or backwards and wait for the killer pass.

No frustrated fans around me in the North,no moaning,no shouting out stupid forward just miserable old feckers as usual in the West a bit like Avftt.

Yep l was in my usual seat in the North and for many reasons the atmosphere was very flat but no grumbling but you could certainly hear the groans and scrunching of Werthers wrappers from the Westies, but what a view we had of that pass from Norbs to JG for the 2nd exquisite to say the least!

At one point Marv was pressed quite well by their striker and literally his only available option, without getting tackled or kicking the ball out of play, was to play the ball back to O'Donnell.

And people in the West still groaned when he did it.

Moaning for the sake of moaning. Never played a game of football in their life. Thick as pig shi*.

Even though in my head I am thinking we are shit, there is zero point in voicing your pleasure otherwise that will just make us twice as worse. Players need to feel comfortable on the ball otherwise the whole thing is absolutely pointless. Having said that, our home record is decent compared to our away record so there must be another reason deep down...

I agree with what your saying, but it seems to be ingrained in our the players that once the keeper rolls the ball out to one of our lads, all the back four have to touch the ball at all east once before progressing up the pitch which allows the opposition to have their defence set properly.
On the odd occasion we have broken quickly we have scored this season.

that's probably why it's taking so long at the back then, as we play a back three, they're probably struggling to find the 4th defender & let him touch it

I had to slum it in the North last night and some tosser in his forties thought it was hilarious to shout Vegan chants at the keeper all second half, even though he probably isn’t a vegan and even if he was, is being a vegan some sort of crime ??? The same numpty then slated Thompson for being man of the match… Strange people

The ones that shout utter crap haven't a clue what they are talking about so just ignore them, they only shout their views and opinions because they are not allowed to say anything at home.

If some of the back three had moved the ball more quickly, there would have been forward passes on.
Please Pennington, Casey and Husband on Saturday.

Both are correct, you can’t always play it forward. The pass isn’t always on and people with loud voices in the crowd are mainly thick. However I’ve never seen a team go from the oppositions half to their own goalkeeper so often or fail to break and deliberately slow the game down

I don't know what sounds worse, a fisting or a good thumbing 😬
Good to see Norburn, who apparently according to some is incapable of passing wind, hitting a wonder ball for goal number two.

Is forward any worse than "get in to them" which used to be regularly chanted?
Football is not like a tactical game of chess we want entertainment, and a few goal mouth incidents instead of passing back from the edge of the opposition area all the way to our keeper, rather than someone taking a shot.

It’s called possession football and it’s what the majority of clubs do, especially playing out from the back.
If you’ve got the ball then there is naff all the opposition can do. If supporters don’t like it then why bother going in the first place.
I Have no doubt there will be quite a few numpties who would prefer we go back to the “good old days” (sarcasm) whereby the goalie would hoof it upfield for Dave Bamber to head it on. If people thought that was entertaining then they really are saddos and have absolutely no idea about football tactics.

In an ideal world, that's correct. Please don't give the impression that our current tactics are any good though. Away from home, we are all over the place and far too easy to play against.
