Yes, get rid. It can’t get any worse than that and it’s happened too many times.

We’ve got a big clear out coming in the summer, time for fresh ideas. Dobbie in the interim with enough time to make the position his own. If that doesn’t work out we should go for Wellens in the summer but he might have better offers.

Enough is enough now and he has to go after the worst display of a season that’s been full of some truly shocking away performances. That team on paper tonight looked good enough and strong enough to beat a team like Cheltenham but again his tactics and set up was very poor with MotM being Grimmy who was flapping around all night and then pulling off great saves.

Said probably nearly a year ago that when it comes to hiring a new manager that SS should be kidnapped and nowhere near the process.

He has a 100% record of incompetence.
“It wasn’t me M’Lud….it was the football consultants dodgy dossier!”

I’m convinced Sadler lost his bottle and reached for the Critchley comfort blanket. It had zero to do with footballing ambition or the good of the club, he just wanted someone inoffensive and fluent in coach speak to get him through a couple of seasons without any trauma. Much like Grayson and his Sunderland experience the mental scars of his last managerial spell at QPR ran too deep.

Apparently Simon Sadler likes to see the fans suffer by keeping the duffer
You could be right.
The feel good has been gone since Critchley left for Villa.
It’s like Sadler’s heart is no longer in it.
To be fair if it’s costing him a lot more money than he thought it was going to then I can understand why.
Running a business and losing money is no fun.

I can't see him being sacked after tonight, but he should be. However, I think it will only be a reprieve as the next 3 league games don't look good for us. I think it would be better to act now, to give us a fighting chance in the last 14 games.
Tonight was as bad as it gets, and we were lucky to only lose 2-0.

Enough is enough. It's February and those players weren't playing with any belief tonight.

He has to go.

Big difference between the question 'Critchley to be sacked' and 'should Critchley be sacked'
For me, at the moment, the answer is no - I'll give him this month but lose the next e (two Posh and one Notlob) and we know where we're up to this season. We're talking a good 25% reduction in season tickets next year, a stronger League One and to be honest a squad not fit for purpose once the loans have gone back.

Don’t think he’ll sack him because of the tinpot cup semi final coming up. I really don’t get this play not to lose, rather than to win football we play.

Manager and players need to have a proper honest discussion and come up with a way forward.

Seasons not over.

Big character required on Saturday from them all.

It’ll likely be down to how the break clauses are structured. This season’s over, so if there is a break clause based on outcome of this season, we may have to wait until then to see it triggered.

Can you really see us beating Posh and Noblot after that performance last night ?
Posh’s game got postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch so they’ve had a midweek rest (another excuse for NC should we lose to them). Best outcome for us is that their pitch is still unplayable come Saturday to avoid further humiliation

If Critch has any future he needs to ditch this 352 or 343 whatever it is it's worked to an extent at home but it's hopeless away, the squad is more than good enough to be top 6 it's just the system is totally wrong atm.

Switch to a 433 with CJ and Dembele on the flanks or 4231 with Dembele as a no.10... I like Joseph but he's wasted in this left flank role he's playing at present, work rate is excellent but not going to get the goals out wide so he'd be more a threat up top. Whatever happens going forward for the love of god please keep Norburn out the team!

I was never in favour of going back, but we did and I wanted it to work, I desperately wanted it to work.

But, quite simply, it's not working, we seem to have no plan B, I'm not even sure there's a plan A to be honest. We make the same mistakes on the pitch, time and time again, whether it's the team selection or formation. It. Never. Changes.
Something has to give, in all honesty, I can't see Sadler potting Critchley any time soon. It would make sense to do it now and start preparing for next season, but I doubt he will.
We seem totally devoid of ideas, fight and spirit and that stems from Critchley, if it's not working, then change it for fucks sake!

I'm not looking forward to Saturday one little bit.

The last time I slagged a manager off was Bob Stokoe on his second stint, during a 4-0 shambleezay at Southend. He just sat in his dugout, and never once tried to gee the team up.
This season, I feel that Blackpool have the squad to be able to slaughter most teams, home or away. We needed to go and win at Stevenage, then beat Oxford, to stay in the hunt for the playoffs, but ended up losing, then drawing 1-1, and lucky not to lose v Oxford, who hit the post in the last few minutes. I can only assume, having not been there last night, that Neil Critchley sent the lads out not to lose. Reports from a few fans that watched the Cheltenham match said It was Blackpool's worst performance for years.
It cements what I've felt all season, that Neil Critchley coming back was a poor managerial appointment. I feel that with this squad, Stephen Dobbie would have had Pool pushing for automatic promotion, especially if his coach was Thommo. For me, it's irrelevant what happens in what I still call 'the 3rd and 4th division cup,' because promotion should be the main target for our club.

I didn’t want him back, but have tried to get behind the decision and behind NC.

He’s a bit of the Emperor’s new clothes for me. Rode a bit of luck when appointed first time around, but needed a decent no 2 for that. Was part of a failed package at Villa, and now we are lumbered again but without a decent no 2.
So sadly, for me, I’m backing the get rid campaign, along with, take a healthy risk with the next managerial appointment please. Look forward !

He never actually set the world on fire at QPR, either.

He won't be going anywhere as we're 9th in the league

With NO changes made at half time and with the subs sent to warm up approaching the usual 70th minute mark, its clear Critch doesn't have a Plan B

I didn't want him back to begin with but hoped he'd prove me wrong.. he hasn't

Last nights' result was the 'Last Straw' for me.
I've supported him up to now.
However, he's got to go.
Can't see us improving under the current management team.
Of course a problem is that he recently signed a new 4/5 year contract.
SS will have to pay him off if he's sacked.

It's Appleton all over again. Sack him now or do a Wigan and not sack him until it's too late.

I don't think anybody even knows what Neil Critchley's PLAN A is?

I can’t believe so many want him to stay. Unfortunately though I think they’ll get their wish. Giving him such a long contract was absolute madness. The truth is we probably can’t afford to sack him.

I agree he won't be going anywhere this week, but lose twice to Posh and Horwich and we might not have to wait too long.

The question is ambiguous. Do you mean, 'Do I think Critchley should be sacked?' or 'Is Critchley going to be sacked by the club?'.

The first version - 'Do I think Critch should be sacked?' - I would answer probably yes, I'd let him go, even though it will cost money. It will make no odds to the season as it's almost certain we are going neither up or down and we could give someone like Eardley or Dobbie a look before we decide how to replace him permanently. Critch is not really working it out in what is a very poor division with a decent enough squad at his disposal. Long cross-field hoofball is ugly to watch and not justified given the inconsistency of results using it. I can't see how much better it would be next season so then what is the point in keeping him on?

The second version - 'Do I think Critchley is going to be sacked by the club/owner?' - I would say no. Partly for the same reasons as above that the season is more or less done and we are going nowhere. Partly because the cost impact would be more of a bearing on the club decisions as it would be throwing money away. I think he will possibly leave at season end by mutual consent, or through him getting another offer (hopefully). He may even be tapped to go and join the new set up at Liverpool post-Klopp. If there is a chance of getting compensation or not having to pay him up it makes sense, if we agree this season is pretty much over.

Blackpool FC do seem to dilly dally with manager’s.
We should try the Watford approach to bad management choices, he’d have been potted last September 👀

The contract won’t be a problem Dave as there will be a clause inserted that limits his pay off. Thats standard but l wouldn't be surprised that the clause says he’s getting zero on the basis he slithered out the back door last time round and left us all in the mire!

Critch more or less said in his interview that he didn't know what to do to change it last night. He's a coach, not a manager. He needs help if he's to stay. SS must know that, we all do.
