Critchley to Villa

Another one bites the dust! Must be a thing. Give your manager til the end of October.

Bound to be posted so well done being the first 😂

In all seriousness though, I doubt we should worry about Villa or Norwich, it's the knock on effect for me. Say one of those clubs appoints Fulham's or Bournemouth's manager as an example, then they come calling...... I'd like to think Critchley is settled and happy here so wouldn't be interested but the chance to manage a team pushing for the Premier League, with the facilities, finances and no doubt managers salary to match could be tough to turn down.

I'd think he has an affinity with us & the players he's brought in, they also buy into his philosophy, would that be the case in the event he jumped ship & inherited a bunch of billy big balls players. Who knows, what would you do if someone offered you 5 times the salary to leave your relative comfort zone. I personally believe he is astute enough to not try to rush things whilst he's still serving his managerial apprenticeship.

A little over a year and a half ago Critch was managing Liverpools u23's and relatively unheard of before joining 'little old Blackpool' in league one.

Fast forward 19 months or so and hes one of the top managers in the Championship, Loved by Blackpool fans and admired by others.

The man is on a trajectory to greatness and has possibly the safest job in football.

Why would he risk that by leaving us ? 😉😆

Because he's ambitious ?

Money talks

Awful decision by the villa office wankers. Dean Smith is a good manager, the kind that if Critch got poached I would be more than happy for have here at Blackpool.

Villa have been on the end of some very unlucky calls and very unlucky bits of football this season and should probably be higher up the table. Either way I didn't think they were going to go down this season.

... However now they've potted him I'm not so sure!

For me Critch is a manager who would get you out of a division and not one who would keep you in one.

Villa is a possibility. Norwich means an uprooting of family.

I think the size of the Villa job is one or two seasons off for Critch, best stay at Blackpool where you are loved pal and still a whole lot of work to be done.

It does raise the question "who is out there who they think would do better?"

We would all love to think if We were in the same position would stay with Blackpool and turn a league 1 team into a Premiership side. Would also like to think We would show Sadler and the board a bit of gratitude for taking the risk on our first, first team managerial position.
However if you was working for £100 a week then have an offer for £500 a week knowing that if you couldn't cut the mustard would still have a very nice pay off why wouldn't you go for it???.

Critch is building here, he has plans and a vision both him and Simon Sadler share and until that is fulfilled I can't see him going anywhere soon. He is appreciated and held in high regard by supporters. Happiness is key and long may it continue with him and the lads.

The big difference is we have SS now as our owner tot the wankstains, He isn't going to "Drive him there himself" He's more likely to match wages as he knows that we have a great young manager and he will want him to be on the journey he perceives into the PL and to improve the club completely and be a massive part of the community.

Rarely in life do you get the opportunity to own and more importantly influence a project like Critchley currently enjoys here at Pool.

I can't think of any other industry whereby you sell your best asset(Grealish) then get dismissed for a drop in performance that naturally follows whilst Plan B takes shape.

The grass isn't always greener

He's put himself high up in the shop window, but the thought of us losing him right now is making me nearly as sick as Liverpool's away kit.

If I had to bet my house and life savings (not much granted) at this moment in time as to whether Critchley will leave us in the next 12-months, I would say not. In fact I think he will commit his immediate future to us very soon. Something along the lines of a 3-year deal. 🍊🍊🍊

Next Aston Villa manager odds:

  • Steven Gerrard - 6/4
  • Kasper Hjulmand - 4/1
  • John Terry - 4/1
  • Paulo Fonseca - 4/1
  • Frank Lampard - 12/1
Ridiculous decision to pot Smith. Pleasingly here, no mention of our glorious leader 👍

Critch has less than half a seasons experience in the Championship. Cant see it happening.
As a few have said , he is here for a while yet.

He loves it here. Critch ain’t daft. He’s only just begun his managerial career. Plenty of managers have made the wrong move and have ended up in obscurity

He’s a football man who wants to stay in the game

Doubt Gerrard will leave rangers.
Kasper who the fuck-mand?
John Terry will be much worse that Dean Smith due to basically learning his entire trade from him...
Paulo Fonseca... Villa really think these people will do a better job for them than Deano????
Lampard, meh actually think he would do a half decent job potentially, but it's a big risk given his mediocre time at Chelsea and his half decent all be it short lived run at Derby.

Basically they are idiots for sacking the decent manager they had.

Can anyone see us sacking critch if we lose a few games on the bounce? I bloody well can't and wouldn't want us to!!!

It’s decisions like this that highlights why Critchley is better off here building something great, as moving elsewhere they will not have the patience to watch his project grow with slow starts (if they happen).

It's a tricky one.

Teams will come knocking- that's nailed on, and the money will be appealing. However the teams looking at him will be doing so because the previous manager has 'under-performed' with the /his squad, so Critch will be tasked with turning that round, rather than building a team. Add into that there will be overrated and overpaid ego's at the club and I dont think that's NC's best role.

I can see NC going for a rebuild job with a relegated PL team. Burnley and Norwich are prime candidates, Burnley the stand out.

There aren't many teams that NC would be a good match for from both sides pov.

NC is not going to be looked at for a Premiership job any time soon, and not for a club as big as Villa. He is doing a great job for us and if he keeps this going then in 12 months he may get looked at for a smaller Premiership or a bigger Championship club but not any time soon. Let’s not get too carried away, next we will be posting Lavery to a Man City or other club of that size and standing 😂 not being disrespectful just honest.

Personally I think Critch will stay.
He won't leave the job half done, also it's too early in his managerial career to up sticks and take over a 'bigger' club.

When Klopp leaves Liverpool at the end of his contract in I think 2023, then Critch will be in the running for that job if he continues to cut the mustard at Blackpool.
Sets his teams up the “Liverpool way”
You never know!

Some folk me included are not motivated by money.
Just want to do a good job enjoy their work.
Critch's ambition will be to manage at the top but im pretty sure he'd rather bide his time and get there with Blackpool a place he loves to work at.

We will be a bigger club than them by 2023.

He wont want to take a backward step by joining them.
