Critchley

Other teams owners/bosses will be noticing how well Pool play and might be thinking about the future if they're struggling now.
Agree, give him a long contract now.
Of course a lot depends on how Critch sees his future.

I’m surprised he’s not already on a 4 year deal already.

I imagine he’ll get a new contract and TBH I’m not sure there’s a great deal of risk in him going elsewhere. At Blackpool he’s got the full support of the owner, board, staff and players as well as fans and he’s being allowed to develop a squad, style, academy and training facility all to his liking. He won’t get that level of support or freedom and the patience that goes with it ANYWHERE else. Critch is smart enough to know that and he’ll be here long term.

My take is that Neil is both an honourable and cautious man. I also think he’s happy here and providing progress continues and the board continues to back him, I think he’ll think it’s prudent to continue learning his trade and increasing his stock, rather than jumping into the unknown.

That is of course, unless a premiership club with similar values to ours and a significantly better contract is offered.

Get him signed up fast.

Well said

Instant success and buying players to win things goes against everything Critchley has built his reputation and career on. There’s no way he’d join a club like Watford or Forest who want instant results. He’d only be swayed by a role at a top club in need of a complete rebuild or a role with the FA or an academy director role at an absolute elite club (Barca, Real etc) as he ultimately left one of the biggest jobs in world football at that level for us.

Sure he'll be in demand very soon, if not already.
His stock will undoubtedly rise the more established we become at this level.
Think, in time, he'll want to be tested at the highest level, but he's still learning his trade, developing young players and putting his theory into practice.
Only hope he isn't swayed by yoyo, or supposed "big" clubs offering him mega bucks to steady their ship. Might be a retrograde step.

In the last few days I've noticed his name cropping up on twitter a lot in relation to who fans would like as manager at their clubs. Make no mistake he's starting to get noticed, and if we do have ambitions we must get him to sign a long term contract.
I'm sure Critchley isn't thinking about leaving any time soon, and I'm sure there will be discussions on his contract - that's the kind of club we are now. It's why we gave Yates a new deal even though he already had several years to run.
We aren't going to be offering to drive him to his next job that's for sure!

Young enough, sensible enough to know that he has a job at Blackpool for another couple of years regardless. Hopefully his stock will continue to rise at Blackpool and I’m confident of at least him being here till 2025 at least. Whatever happens, he’s done a great job, long may it continue.

He’s never going to be a one trick pony like so many managers he is going to evolve he will be able to change when he needs to and he’s going to get better and better

he will be tested at the highest level in time, with us.

Stay at Blackpool where he is in plenty of credit and involved in the rebuild of the entire club, or go to Watford (or similar) and be a Premier League manager until you lose 3 games in a row.........
Don't they still get paid the remainder of their contract even if sacked after 10 games or whatever?

I suppose its why people keep on going despite knowing it's run badly.

It's like a jackpot for some managers, you can get full pay for years and chill out until your next job.
