Critch's presser.

Give Kemp a start and encourage full backs and at least a couple of the midfield players to get ahead of the centre forward and get into the penalty area, we are too static and predictable.

And like somebody else said play like you enjoy it, there are a lot worse jobs out there!!

We should practice the long ball to the winger with the pace we have at our disposal. It doesn’t mean hoof ball but it does mean we can exploit our pace when teams attack us through the midfield.
He must have seen that tactic countless times at Liverpool? Mane and Salah are the out ball so many times in a game. It’s not quite John Beck, but it’s a long pass over the defenders head.
With slow pace of MK back line yesterday it was screaming out for KK and CJ to hold their position and then long ball over the top.

The one time Kemp did it, it sliced straight through them. With the pace we have in the team we should use it more, draw the opposition forward and push the ball in behind them.

He didn't. He did say they were very good and we were very good, and everything is very good but for that bit of quality etc but in what I saw, he didn't say that exactly...
From Scrafton's post-match interview:
“I thought it was a deserved three points, I thought we were excellent - particularly defensively,” Critchley said.
“They’re an excellent football team. We’ve watched a lot of their games this season and in terms of the way they play and their style of play, they’re the best team I’ve seen."

Fair enough. I was going from the YouTube clip. As I say, from what I saw.

Really odd comment as I'd say they were, by some distance the worst team we've played.

Maybe he was talking about the footage he’d reviewed of previous games rather than the game just gone. Like all good teams in Critchleys mind, it’s pointless pass retention that makes you a good team!

I sort of understand what he means; they tried to keep the ball and pass it around, rather than doing the old-fashioned thing of trying to score a goal.
I don't understand why goalkeeper and defenders passing the ball to each other aimlessly with the only end product being that they occasionally mess up and let the opposition in, is now classed as excellent football!!

Swindon and MK Dons both played this way so i would be happy for everybody we play in League 1 to adopt the same style, they aren't Man City or a good Barcelona, they just make life difficult for themselves.

I'm not advocating hoofball, i just think League 1 defenders are better passing with purpose and quickly getting it away from their own penalty area is a good start.
