Darvel FC

2 mins down the road for me so i go and watch them now and again - if Blackpool are away. The guy who 'owns' the team is a member at the golf club and is a pretty decent bloke, he owns Browning Bakers and used to be big into Kimarnock FC until they all fell out a few years ago. A weird side effect was he had to stop using 'say aye to a Killie pie' as a marketing slogan.

They aren't that popular round here with the more established teams (like Auchinleck Talbot) as Darvel are being accused of buying their way to the leagues (Think Man City but in deepest Ayrshire and in really bad weather). Still you have to admire the teams ambition as everyone has to strat somewhere. Usual crowds are around 200 ish, sold out again next Monday (c2800 i think). Check out their dressing room renovation on their website as to how much they are throwing at 'the project'🤯

All that to one side, it was an amazing achivement against Aberdeen and arguably the biggest upset in Scottish football. Ever.
