David Dunn

Anybody else completely forget that David Dunn was in charge prior to critch? Also how spectacularly bad was Lee Clark and Jose rigas win percentage. Critchley had exactly the same win percentage as sam allardyce so no matter how people try to spin it and say he wasn't that good anyway, I think the stats say different.

Wouldn’t really class him or Thommo as actually managing Blackpool

Riga/Clark season was so bad due to the stand off between Riga & Os as much as I admire people standing up to them this incident annoyed me as no parties put the club first just themselves

I was actually hoping David Dunn might get the job at the time.
Seemed to set the team up well and we did OK.
I don’t think we would be in the Championship now if he had done though.

Allardyce had a very good record though, he just bottled it towards the end of both seasons, unlike Critchley.

Agree with that regarding Riga, never deserved the love in. Let's be honest, when he wanted and got players like Zenjov in, you can't really blame any owner for not wanting to back him. As bad as Oyston was, we signed a lot of foreign player that Oyston wouldn't have known about.

Think Muggers deserves a mention too, as bad as that team was it should have comfortably finished mid-table.

To be fair to Riga, Oyston refused to sign any of his 1st list of 22 ish players, or any from a 2nd list of back up names. The players we signed were a last minute desperation measure, not carefully planned & selected.

Surreal times to say the least.
And whatever happened to that Tom Folding bloke? 🤔

Dunn changed the style from Grayson, he actually got us playing out and trying to play football. I was amazed the first time I saw Maxwell play it out short to a CB. Dunn also got Ronan and KDH firing too. He was never a long-term option but he held the fort well, tried to play the game the right way and put a little enjoyment back into it.

I saw us play at AFC Wimbledon under Dunn, a truly turgid 90 minutes - but to be fair every game we played there was like that.
