Dean Hughes - Shef Wed

Bloody hell neither of them will be missed at Wednesday based on those comments.

"Judging by the poor quality of the players that have signed on their watch they should have been sacked months ago. Like a previous poster has said ‘what exactly did they do for 52 weeks.".

One comment even says they had a scattergun approach!

It's not like Sheff Wed presents a model that we should be clamouring to follow is it?!

I suspect their issue mainly stem from the nut box that is Chansiri. It has a feel of rats jumping a sinking ship.
He's obviously a major factor but where is the evidence that these guys know what they are doing? What have they done? I'm not up to speed tbh but it would be good to know what convinced SS that they are the right people. He's got a pretty high turnover of people in these kinds of posts already. Is he a good judge? The evidence so far suggests not tbh. And I'm not anti SS.

I agree, the jury is out on our recruitment and I don't just mean players.

I've witnessed a hell of a lot of people getting very good jobs over the years simply cos they look right and make the right kinds of noises at the right times. Learned how to play the game and tick the boxes. And then protect themselves within those jobs. Suround themselves with sycophants etc.

I don't know Sadler at all other than his couple of interviews. He's obviously very successful in what he does for a living. But when it comes to football he has hired a group of pals who all turned out to be inept or bullshitters. The management recruitment is sketchy to say the least. Grayson 2.0, Appleton 2.0 and McCarthy all disastrous. Critchley 1.0 was decent. I'm still not sold on Critchley 2.0.

I don't know much about the roles or the credentials either of all the execs that keep coming and going other than one of their jobs is a responsibility for recruitment of players. We certainly seemed to have recruited a lot of crocks and let 1 decent player deemed a crock go to Portsmouth.

Who knows? Sometimes you just get lucky like he did with Critchley first time around. Like we did with Tony Parkes, Thomson, Calderwood etc. That for me is the most crucial appointment, a very good no.2 for Critchley. A word in his ear when he's going to go defensive or go for a draw.

They weren't his pals. And I'm not sure you can say that good appointments are lucky and bad appointments are the reality.

Doesn't really fill me with enthusiasm tbh. SS is quite clearly very very good and knows his sh1t in his own field, I'm much less convinced about him in this one. Hopefully I'm wrong as the general ethos of what the club want to do is sound, maybe it will just take more time than we like to give.
