Dele Alli

Childhood trauma and even prenatal trauma are not understood by most people, imo, it is the worst kind of trauma, far worse than that caused by a one off incident (which can be devastating) as it affects the development of the brain and can never be “cured”

As for Dele, talking will help and I really hope that he can realise his potential as a player but more importantly as a person! Good luck!

Very sad. Extract from the BBC article below. What a difference to children's lives in can make to be brought up by good people.
"
He later paused as he became emotional when about talking about being "molested" at six before speaking about being "sent to Africa to learn discipline".

"At seven, I started smoking, eight I started dealing drugs," he added.

"An older person told me that they wouldn't stop a kid on a bike, so I rode around with my football, and then underneath I'd have the drugs. That was eight.

"Eleven, I was hung off a bridge by a guy from the next estate, a man.

"Twelve, I was adopted - and from then, it was like - I was adopted by an amazing family like I said, I couldn't have asked for better people to do what they'd done for me. If God created people, it was them.""

To be able to tell his story is amazing in itself.
There will be plenty of young kids running drugs that fall by the wayside and never reach their teens😔
I loved his quote about the press and social media that things are said and written and others immediately take that as the truth.
He will live with his demons forever but hopefully in the future he'll cope with them far better. Good luck to you lad🧡👍🏻

I'll hold my hands up, I was one of those who looked at his decline from his peak at Spurs and thought it was just another case of wasted talent / inflated ego / bad influences from hangers on.

He's still young enough to find the right help, pull through this and get back to enjoying football (at whatever level) and more importantly, life.
Good luck, Dele.

Thx for sharing Kurt.
A really powerful watch.
Didn't used to like him - and it's totally changed my opinion - I hope he gets back to the level he was at.

Agreed. If he can get back to what he was, he’s a shoo-in for the Euros next summer.

And you'll still get people saying' how has he any problems with all his money', 'He's privileged to be playing at a level most would love to'.

You don't see mental trauma until it eventually comes out, one way or another. Good on him for doing this, hopefully it will help him and others.

He will never reach those levels again. Just got to hope he finds a club whether that be Everton or somewhere else and he starts to enjoy his football again and more importantly life. Great interview and think it will do him a world of good. Will stop people judging.

You could see that he wasn't really ready to talk about it. Clearly been rushed into it due to the gutter press. Feel very sorry for him, maybe a move abroad might help him get back on track
