Rhodes by a country mile in League 1.

Dembele if we are talking Championship.

Dembele is exciting but he drifts in and out of games. But he'd not be out of place in the Championship and is young. Rhodes guarantees you goals in League 1 but possibly not in the Championship.

I've thought this for a little while now, when people on here who are unlikely to have any financial understanding whatsoever of our club say it......what is our price range?

I would think that very few people actually have access to that information.......

How much did he cost Brest and how many goals has he scored for them?
I think it was a speculative signing by them, and they will want a return but maybe not outside our price range.
Playing for us he could massively increase his value to more than the Bowler/Jerry Yates levels so maybe a bid over 1 million on a take it or leave it basis would be considered.

I would be ecstatic if he signed for us but was not a quick flip.
Not many clubs would pay a lot for a player who has only done well in the last 10 games or so.
Northampton he was pretty anonymous, before that always faded second half.
We would be hoping he turned into the new Wes Hoolahan and not end up being sold at bargain basement price.

Just as the alarm bells are ringing @ Huddersfield about them recalling Jordan then others, I would imagine, in the Championship will be watching closely at how Kaddy sees this season out.

We could possibly sign him from Brest for half a mill. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be the only bidders (imo) and because of that we'll probably lose both.

If you lot don’t think that decent championship clubs have been watching him for us and seeing his performances knowing he’s only 20 years old has already played first team football for Celtic and represented England until under 18s level you’re crazy.

If you really think he’s worth 500k and we will be the only club to offer that and that he’d choose us over other clubs as a permanent move I’d say you have tangerine tinted specs on.

Only way we have a sniff of getting him is if we get promoted to the championship.

They are 5th in the league and flying at the moment.
 
Rhodes for me, he is a natural finisher and they don't come around so often, Rhodes will get you into the play-off if not promoted, Dembele yes excellent prospect but will he get you promoted in my opinion no
 
Good question

Dembele had been the missing piece of the jigsaw.

Allows the rest of the team to play to their strengths. It's no surprise the midfield has improved massively since his arrival and we are scoring goals. He's brilliant.

Rhodes scores goals. He doesn't run as much as Yates, isn't as useful in defence as Madine; but scores goals which is the most important bit of football.

If I could only have one, I think I'd choose Dembele for his own brilliance and how it has improved the rest of the team.

Dembele for me all day long. Rhodes may have another 1 or 2 seasons at this level and scoring. Dembele is as good a player already imo and is going to get better and better and could be here for a decade if we can afford him.
However long he would be our player I believe we could make a few million quid selling him on.
To me it makes great football and business sense to be trying everything to sign him asap, maybe as early as Jan. At least test Brest out with 500K or so in early Jan window and see where they are at for a player who cost zero and they don’t seem to rate too much.
If there’s some rule where we don’t have to wait for Jan then table a bid tomorrow.
 
Joseph may well become as good as Rhodes given time and coaching. Rhodes is a predator and although there’s not many like him, there are plenty of good strikers who will score hatfuls of in front of a creative player.

Dembele is a rarer talent. A true 10 or wide player who will create chance after chance for players in front of him. He’s young and was expected to go on to be an elite player until whatever poor turn he took in either his attitude or training ability / fitness.
Sign him then you’ve got your next £5m sale in the bag with Critch coaching and belief returning.

Stade Brestois, currently 5th in Ligue 1. In a Europa League spot, and just two points behind Lille in 4th and Champions League spot. They are a similar sized club to Blackpool.
 
Personally I can't see us going up this season without Rhodes but if that is our fate it would be lovely to watch a full season of Dembele.
 
Dembele by a country mile for me. He could be worth a fortune in time IF he carries his form. If Sadler could push a good enough deal through for them to accept we could have an absolute bargain on our hands. He certainly has Hoolahan qualities about him
 
Wow, for all the right reasons this is incredibly tough.

I’d have to go with Rhodes personally, natural goal scorers especially at this level are rare to find.

Dembele is a special talent but goals win games and the impact Dembele has on our team is there for all to see, Rhodes is just so good at sticking the ball in the net I’d have to pick him.

He fits the somewhat crashed model.

And tbh, if you want promotion you can't just buy for L1, you have to acquire some who will flourish at the next level. He fits that more than JR who with total respect will be another year older and maybe a little slower.

I think Rhodes is out of contract in the summer so the January window would be an ideal time to pick him up cheap from Huddersfield. Problem will be other more wealthy clubs coming in for him as centre forwards are in short supply!

Rhodes couldn’t play for another club this season
 
Two of our best players this season. Certainly sign JR if we go up. Old Head alwats needed and as Dembele is already my fav player of the last few seasons I ,d love to see if he could repeat his success in the Championship. No guarantee as he would meet some "proper" kickers but JR would take the penalties!!
