Happy birthday derek, smashing fella. I used to be involved at Thornton Cleveleys fc and Derek was round the club every few weeks,
And when Mike Davis was there also it was a great laugh 😂🤣.
 
Yep happy birthday Derek. He was CF the first time I went to Bloomfield.

Met him at Hambleton BC, a lovely man.
 
I can't say I know him personally but always comes across as a good honest man with a passion for the Mighty and the local community.

I particularly remember watching one video of him - might have have been one of Lee's ? - where he was particularly enthusiastic about walking football and he seemed really excited about getting as many people involved as possible and enjoying all the obvious benefits.

S20, yes fully agree. He was heavily involved in local community stuff, did a lot of work with it and was disappointed it wasn't able to continue a few years ago.
 
Lovely bloke. My two lads used to go to his school holiday football clubs. Him and his wife were always friendly and always has time to chat. Happy Birthday sir 👍🎂
 
Derek is great craic, started my coaching career helping out with Derek and all his community stuff, he had me doing all sorts including reffing the 'derby' v Preston girls at Warbreck school, we had a right laugh.
