Des Buckingham

I hadn't been paying attention, someone at work yesterday said Lampard had got it?

Was that on the cards and he pulled out, or was it just bolox?

He was rumoured to be the bookies favourite last week, make of that what you will.

This could be a very good appointment for them. Everything I've heard about him has been positive and he seems to play the same style of football as Manning.

I can't help feeling pedigree only works higher up the leagues - I think these managers with new ideas etc are destined to fail at League One level (and I'd include Critch in that). League One needs good players and a basic system.

Absolutely buzzing mate. One of those that the masses wouldn’t have heard of, but the training annd connections inside City Football Group is next level. Expect a similar high press, possession based system just as we have been…

Hopefully he'll be OK but if you look at Nick Cushing who manages New York City FC who are part of CFG it doesn't always translate to success. He attempts to play the City DNA style but it is too rigid and isn't adapted to lesser quality players. Hopefully your guy will go a bit rogue and put the Guardiola handbook down sometimes.

Curious - when Critch left on a whim, did he say 'goodbye' to the club, fans, players? Did the club reciprocate in wishing him well?

I ask, because Manning left cold and pretty heartlessly, the club wrote quite a spikey update on the post and we then heard Manning might zoom call the players at some point. Later Rodrigues posted on Insta this after the Leyton Orient game, suggesting probably not...

Whereas Buckingham met fans at the airport in Mumbai, had some really nice pieces shared from Mumbai City, so so different.

Absolutely fair points - time will tell, but in the case of Manning, he did the same coming from Lommel to MK, to us. Critch similarly did a great job first time of asking too, so I guess it's hard to guage eh?
