Did we know the team are off to Ireland?

I wonder if we'll be able to spot the trialists in the pre-season videos?
I don't believe the Club has actually told us yet ALL the names of last seasons u18s that have been given pro- contracts.

We have a lot of the same players in a lesser league. Just need to add some more quality. Tbf we started the season OK but injuries, inexperience etc caught up with us and we never recovered.

You might want Trybull or Virtue in midfield. Gabriel at RB. But no great options for midfield and attack. Where are the creativity and the goals? Need some better players in. Morgan is a bit of a gamble, could go either way.

We've actually got the base of a decent squad. Obviously we need some quality adding. But not sure why we keep hearing this myth we don't have many players.

That squad is 19 players. With our injury list from preseason and the first game we will probably be down to 10.

So we don’t have enough players to start preseason next week do we.

I never said it was done but perfectly fine at this stage of pre season. We could easily play a friendly wirh that.

It's a 22 man squad this season, not including under 21's I think.

Clearly some may depart and we need to add a bit of quality too in a few areas.
 
Just pondering...is it fair to assume that Yates is a goner (along with all the released [players) and at the same time assume the club hasn't identified potential replacements.

The recruitment team will undoubtedly be talking to many players, to cover the shortfall in squad numbers. Some of those players are likely to be considering offers from other clubs. I'm sure some will think BFC is a good option and others won't (based on ambition and the financial packages being offered).

There surely won't be many, if any, clubs that start pre-season with a full complement of squad players.

This summer transfer window will very likely see a good number of signing. Hopefully, all the top targets will want to come, but I suppose it rarely works out that way for many clubs at L1 level.

You know the club is only allowed to register 22 players, don't you?

Plus, there are another dozen or so players in the development squad who could play in pre-season at least, and some of who might move up to the first team.

I've been reading Chansiri's (big gob's) ramblings re the massive's recruitment approach. Even with their admittedly massive funds in the championship none of their targets are expected in til well into July. He talks about the better players keeping their options open and waiting til the last minute. He says it's easy to sign awful players who nobody wants right now,(or some such disrespectful crap).
It's the same for everybody. There'll be a market for the championship, and a market for L1. But moves of any note wont happen for a while yet.

I’ll rephrase for you - “we need to start with a decent first team squad as we had a lot of injuries last season and if the same happens again we won’t be challenging for promotion”
 
If I thought once the squad off 22 was submitted you couldn’t have any more, so if 10 get injured it doesn’t matter if you have 22 or 50… you can only use the 12 listed in the 22 man squad?

If we have the same injuries as last season we’ll struggle, like any team would.

Like others have said it’s pre season, we have 19 first team players and a development squad, some of which we would hope can step up. We’ve easily got enough players to start pre season and will add some more in the build up to the season proper. There’s no need to be so sensationalist and negative, chill the fuck out.
