to get anything from that , QPR keeper only had one effort on target to save other than the goal . we have loads of possession on half way but pass back and across far too much . Despite our so called threat up front we actually create very few clear chances .

We got what we deserved from that. Not a single shot in the first half. Struggled against 10 men. Must say it’s not often you see a grass pitch with so much bounce if I squinted at the tv I could say it my mind it was a 4g pitch lol

Set up too defensively by NC, especially in the first half. And when we had most possession in the second we spent most of it passing along the back four or back to the keeper, even when they didn't press

One of the things that irritates me about modern football is when losing in the dying throes of a game a team is still passing sideways and back instead of lumping it in the box. Exactly how we finished tonight!

Well he’s been on the scoresheet a good bit lately and not just those 4 pens which to me is more creative than most of our midfielders.

The gap was so obvious last night. A huge space between Connolly/Dougall and Lavery. Every hopeful punt forward from us was easily won by their centre backs and we routinely had nobody in the space to get close to the second ball.
Not much changed when Madine came on.

I was worried and posted before the game that Bowler and CJ might take up the space of the wing backs as both are natural wingers (4-4-2) as opposed to inside forwards.

Critch will have drilled this with them but when the game started neither CJ nor Bowler were close enough to Lavery to allow the WB overlap. It just didn’t work with the players we had on the pitch.

Keshi if available and even Dale might have been better suited in that formation but it just didn’t work for us at all. We were better second half but already 1-0 down and facing a low block now due to QPR 10 men.
