Do any of the players or management team actually live in Blackpool?

It's a massive issue.
Anyone who has commuted for an hour or more to work there and back appreciates the misery, distraction, and weariness of doing that daily.
Athletes sitting in cars for long periods isn't conducive to fitness.
Critch is doubtless keen to get away to beat the M6 rush - back to his posh dev in Warrington - surely a contradiction in terms.
They should all be made to live (rent) locally to devote quality time to their jobs and not rush away.

As well as being able to devote time to interacting with the local community….. isn’t that a tool that should be used to help grow the fanbase?

Don't be a t*t all your life - someone raised the question, so I answered it.
If you're not interested, don't read it. It wasn't intended for your reading or comment
Who was it for then😂…if not for general conversation. My reply was simply a short version of so what if he does….it’s hardly a secret that he lives there.
By the way of course it would be good if players and staff were locally based but the reality is that it is highly unlikely in the modern day when footballers and even staff (especially the latter who can be sacked off at any moment these days)are constantly on the move and I am sure players especially don’t want to be chopping a changing their home and family base.

If I’m a tit then so be it.

It's good that you acknowledge you're being an awkward t*t.
There are many other posts detailing where players live, but you haven't commented on any of them, only mine relating to NC!
My home town of Warrington cover a large area, do you even know where Grappenhall is? NC lives on a particular estate, which I won't name.
Where contracted players & management live is a matter for them & their families. As long as they can make training every day / home games & meet the coach RV point for away games, that should meet the clubs criteria.
In answer to your above question, serving as a reminder for an awkward t*t, the OP's question was simple, however, to assist you & in big print to enable you to understand, his question is ....

Obviously my polite response was misguided…..by the way if I were to comment in every post I’d be here for a long time.
….and yes I do know where it is even without google maps not that I go to Warrington as I really have no reason to,bit like Wigan except they have a team currently in the same league as us.😉
Anyway we are both exiles ( I am Cheadle Hulme,Stockport) who both support the same club so if I am a Tit then I’m a Pool Supporting one😉
By the way Stockport has apparently been voted the best place in the North West to live ….not sure how that’s happened but hey ho …and we could be playing them next season though I hope we aren’t as in we somehow get promoted…if only…but if we are well it will be a short journey on the bus and or train,if I can get a ticket of course🤔

Who? All the ones I know of live nearer to Manchester

Wealthy young lads don’t want to live on the Fylde Coast. It’s just a fact of life I’m afraid and you’ll struggle to get them to compromise for the sake of what is likely to be a 2/3 year stay at any given club. Slightly older players and those with young families could probably be tempted - and given we weren’t exactly big spenders the 2010 team, whilst wealthy by our standards, weren’t as affluent se the current crop is likely to be.

Some of our fans really need to be more realistic with what they’re demanding.

Also Police, Doctors and Teachers often don’t like living in the communities they serve - for fairly obvious reasons. Given the abuse footballers can get it’ll likely be the same only multiplied by a significant factor !
Patino absolutely loved it.

Ah ah, never mind our poor quality L1, you omitted to add that Warrington (it's the Wire, never the Wolves) are top of the rugby super league - above the Pie Eaters 🤣

..I have edited my post ….and yes I know….many many many years ago I used to go to watch the Borough at the old greyhound stadium then Rigby Road where I would then walk over to Bloomfield Road to see out a Central League game watching the old scoreboard under the south waiting to see how we had got on away🫣

Our Stockport Seasider crazy daughter lives in Reddish.
It's a great location that just needs that promised tram link to Manchester.
We've watched Pool at Stocky several times and it would be great to see them get promoted above Wrexham.

In conclusion, Gaz Goals, living in the hotel within sight of the pitch and generally being an upstanding all round pillar of the local community is the way forward 👍

Didn’t Lualua live in the new flats next to the miners home?

Also Baps lived/lives in Poulton, I believe Charlie did too.

Live in the area yes, but I couldn't hold it against any player for not living in Blackpool, one of the most deprived towns in the country!

They'll be saying next because Sadler doesn't live in town he has no idea!
Let's face it if you're a young lad then you want to be closer to Manchester/Liverpool if you're not from round here and if you want to put roots down with a family unless you are from the North West, I doubt you'd want to come here (and am presuming from that the o/p is talking about Blackpool itself?)

So bar not winning and not playing the formation that certain people want, what requirements are they not meeting?
Those would be the two for me. No others needed.
It's evident we lack decent tactics and coaching - it's as though they're making it up as they go along - not acceptable.
Not surprising if the manager and many players are keen to get on the road home because they live so far away.

I’m not sure that’s the case to be honest. We look a bit clunky at times, but it’s pretty clear that we don’t lack coaching or tactics…

We certainly looked like we were making it up as we went along under Appleton at times. Arguably under Critchley were possibly over-coached and a bit rigid as a result on occasions. We are the opposite of ‘Making it up as we go along’ and maybe a bit too predictable.

I remember when all, most. Pool players lived in Blackpool.
Stan Morty on North Park Drive.
Stan Matthews on St Annes Rd.
George Farm on Goodwood Ave.
Can't remember all the rest but took Telegrams to most at some time or other.
Of course Harry Johnston had his paper shop on Central Drive, but can't remember where he lived.
The memory goes when you get old. 😟

Sorry IMO not related, how can where you live have anything to do with tactics, formations and coaching, and when all finish work do we all not want to go home, they will only go home after the day is done just like we all do

Well that makes at least three of us in Stockport though I have yet to meet the other one😉from Bramhall.
Mind you I don’t know why but I always think Reddish is in Manchester and that’s from someone who has lived in Stockport since 1977😉…might have something to do with hardly ever going into the town centre area and especially the other side of the A6😂.Living only a 10 minutes walk from Cheadle Hulme Station we would go into Piccadilly rather than Mersey Square which in fairness isn’t exactly enticing though it might be if the massive developments going on around there are a success.

So it’s ok for us mugs who support the town to live in this dump but those who just make a sh1t load of money from us don’t have to?

You may be right - but do they clock in and out? I doubt it. Who manages it - the manager/coach who probs wants to get home. Anyway - it's all opinion and speculation. I just think regardless of the club, if the manager and players live or rent a place locally, they'll be more inclined to focus on the football, it's not as if they're short of money.

i do get your point and understands your views, they don't clock in or out or didn't used to but they will have a start time and will be expected to be on time

At most Clubs, there's usually a system of 'Fines' in place for things like 'Being Late' so the players will be expected to be wherever they need to be on time. Personally I think a Football Player's 'Home' should be a place where they feel comfortable and are able to switch off from bloody work. It's up to them where they choose to live, within a sensible commute distance.

Some will choose to live locally others may choose to live elsewhere...

Force them to live in Blackpool?

With the speed our fans turn on managers and players it would make sense for them just to Air b n b in the area. No point taking on a 6 month rental agreement that’d be upto end of Jan
