Do we have an active LGBTQ Fan Group

I know many clubs do and it seems strange if in a place like Blackpool we don't? Do we have many openly gay fans - think we have a few who post on here. Seems an open goal to include more fans if we do.

FFS, we are Blackpool fans.
We are not specifically fans of black players, gay players or players with ginger hair.
We support the club and everyone involved are included in that, from Simon Sadler down to helpers at the ground.

We are Blackpool FC
They don’t mean a club supporting LGBTQ players but an LGBTQ supporters club… in the same way we have Yorkshire Seasiders and Basil and they don’t specifically support those unfortunate souls born the wrong side of the Forest of Bowland or south of Watford

I think it’s fair to say there’s very good reason to have those sort of supporters groups so hopefully it’s that you didn’t quite grasp the question !

We already have 1,235 supporters groups at the last count.

If people really want to create an LGBTQ+ Fans Group the most important criteria to fill and in all reality should be the top of their mission statement needs to be - a promise and stated goal of asking utterly asinine questions when they get invited to a Structured Dialogue Meeting with the club.

Until I see some Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Trans commitment to that area I cannot for the life of me get behind this idea.

As a gay guy I wouldn’t join an LGBTQ+ group just as I haven’t joined BST, BSA or any other group over the years. I go to Blackpool to enjoy the game.

HOWEVER, we should have a high profile representative, especially with the world looking at us now, if only because it shows we are an inclusive club and anyone struggling with their sexuality might confide in that person.

I agree that we don’t need the amount of ‘groups’ we have as it inevitably becomes divisive but we should definitely have club representation (which we might well have and apologies if I’ve missed that).

I grasped the op perfectly thank you.

My take on this is that these sorts of things always tend to some themselves out. E.g., if there is sufficient demand, then one will almost organically appear as a result of said demand.

The more successful ones (from my very limited understanding / knowledge) tend to exist at bigger clubs given their bigger fanbases which makes sense. I'm not aware of any particularly thriving LQBTQ+ supporters groups for lower league sides - though expect some must exist.

As with any supporters group, you need a handful of very committed members at the head of it.
