Season is over, said that after Stevenage. We aren’t going up or down so give Dobbie until the end of the season to see what he can do with this team. (Ideally with Bowyer by his side) Didn’t let us down last time.
It is literally a zero risk appointment and has to be better than the current shite.

Let’s get DJ Campbell up front as well.

I agree he needs to go but this fetish of getting old players/managers in is so weird.
Why would it be weird? Already at the club so knows the players, their strengths and weaknesses etc and did well in the Championship with a doomed team.
If it didn’t work out could make a permanent appointment in the summer.
If we don’t give him a try someone else will.

Why has nobody given him a try prior to this then?

How many threads do we need on this? It's completely boring now.

Also, how on earth is it a zero risk appointment, when there is 15 games of the season left to play and an opportunity to get to Wembley at stake?

The 15 games left are now utterly irrelevant because we are staying in League One whatever happens. I’m not overly concerned with the BSM trophy other than a trip to Wembley would be good for club finances.

That's what I would do. I wouldn't give it him FT for next season though even if it goes well because the season is, as you say, basically over and with nothing riding much on the games, coupled with the players probably having more freedom, results may not fully reflect the managers input.

I would however say to SD that if a new guy comes in everything possible would be done to get him to take you as a No 2. Learn the trade and then you'll be able to step up to a No 1.
