Dobbie is our man

What makes you think he actually wants the job?
He's not been approached either so maybe he isn't in the frame.
In all honesty i think he needs a bit of experience along side him if he was to take or be offered the job.
We need a complete overhaul, from training to tactical coaches , whoever gets it has a real tough job on their hands especially if the chairman is as distant as he has been this season.

League 1 is an unforgiving league. We don’t want a novice in charge the season would be wasted, hit the ground running with a proper manager and let’s get some momentum. All this he loves the club nonsense, it’s a bloody job.

The fact he played Husband at centre half makes me think he isn’t the right man. Just to got to hope Ekpiteta wasn’t fit enough to play which I would find hard to believe.
Have you been keeping up with news? Ekpiteta has been out for ages and hasn't played.

To be played from the start would have been probably too much and he would have to come off.

He's played 0 minuted until his sub appearance tonight.

It’s a bloody job, and it needs a bloody manager who knows the bloody club and the bloody fans and who knows the way we want them to bloody play. Give him the bloody job and forget all this bloody experience eg. Bloody Grayson, Bloody Appleton and bloody McCarthy.

A half fit Ekpiteta would have been better than Husband at centre half. To be honest, couldn’t give a shit as the end result is the same. Predicted it was going end badly with that defence and I was proved right. Everyone goes on a bit effort and competing but when you are conceding goals like that, it’s all pointless.

We are shit defensively, Husband has been good for us but last 5 games or so has been very poor.

It just sums up the season where Thorniley is injured again, Marv only just back too late really, Gabriel injured again etc.

Too many are just made of paper and we can't afford it.

We have to ship soke of them out and rebuild with footballers who don't get injured by stools.

Just very frustrating. A massive important game and we start with a defence like this. The game was lost when the team was announced.
The defence was poor but the individuals were sound. Gabriel - poor fullback, good wingback; Nelson, excellent centreback, no good when exposed; Husband, good sometimes, shouldn't be playing through that head injury; Lyons - brilliant.

Husband is never good at centre back. Agree Gabriel isn’t the best full back and in my opinion Lyons is over rated. At this level he is beaten for pace too easily. That might be harsh but this is Championship level we are judging these players on. The positive is that he will do well in League One.

May as well give him the job simply because team selection & substitutes have been mainly good, it’s all very well getting an up and coming new manager from the lower leagues but I’d say that’s a bigger risk than dobbie especially if he had an experienced number 2
I don’t buy into all this he loves the club stuff, if he got offered a better paid job he’d do a critchley

I’ve been a supporter for more than 50 years. I went to my first game in 1970. I have seen some good managers - Allan Brown, Billy Ayre, Holloway - lots of average ones who got us nowhere, and lots of useless ones, Appleton and McCarthy being the latest examples. The truth is every managerial appointment is a huge gamble and most end in failure. But what we need now is someone who understands the club, who loves it, who gets us, and who we can all get behind. And we need to appoint quickly, not mess around for weeks. Dobbie is that man. Appoint him tomorrow and let’s start preparing now for promotion next year. UTMP

We know Stephen Dobbie and the way he plays. He is quick and bright. That is all you need if the owner will get in a few really quality players. This may well be our silver lining by accident.

If Dino Mick had kept us up then he would have been replaced by another dull boring man on the old manager roundabout and nothing would change.

Now we have the chance of a full reset. Think back, when Grayson jumped to join Leeds we were left with Parkes and Thommo to steady the ship. They did well and deserved better, but Koko went with the wild card of Holloway.

If Mr Dobbie has experienced support, because there are many tasks we need to improve, I believe he could be the best we could choose. He is 40 yo, he has seen and done a lot. If not now, then when ? Don’t lose him by hesitating.
